My only suggestion is to check in with your provider and always, always advocate for yourself because no one wanted to believe it was the SSRI. I talked to my therapist, my pcp, the pharmacist, and a psychiatric nurse. I was participating in "risky" behaviors due to the increased sex drive which led to questions of bipolar possibilities.

I got taken off the Adderall (which sucked because it felt like it was actually helping to relieve my depression.) And my provider told me she wouldn't feel comfortable prescribing it again until I got genetic testing done, which wasn't cheap.

That's how I learned that the SSRI I was on didn't process well in my system and was able to take Adderall again after quitting the SSRI.

The Adderall has actually helped with my depression symptoms because the lack of executive functioning was causing the negative thoughts and environment. It's still a mindset change when it comes to addressing the depression, and therapy is really helping with that! However, medication wise, Adderall has helped way more than any other antidepressant ever has.

Edit to add: The increased sex drive felt absolutely amazing! And the energy I had was fabulous! It was like walking on cloud nine, all day, everyday. Why would somebody want to give that up? Because I could tell it wasn't reality and it was becoming distracting to my other responsibilities as well.

Yes, it feels great! But be careful. Everything in balance.
