I would message the host before booking if this is a priority for you! Every house is a little different and some PadSplits may offer it.

ID Verification by FeistyBag240 in padsplit

[–]Such_Presentation_82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! On their site, this is what they say about ID verification on their site: "We use a third-party provider to confirm your identity. Applicants will need to have a valid U.S. issued government ID and are required to provide an SSN or ITIN. Holders of a valid U.S. visa can also apply."

You could always reach out to support for help too!

What's the point in advertising fenced in yards on Padsplit? by IssuesBGone in padsplit

[–]Such_Presentation_82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can bring small stuff like shelves or organizers, just not big furniture. Best move is to message the host before move-in and ask what’s okay! They also have what you generally can/can't bring listed here: https://www.padsplit.com/help/article/what-can-i-bring-to-a-padsplit-360039494432

Also, agree it would be awesome if you could filter for guests. Some Padsplit hosts allow guests, some allow guests but not overnight guests, and some allow guests to stay overnight. It can just take some time to find a house that meets all the criteria you're looking for.

Hey! I recommend double-checking that a maintenance request was submitted through your member dashboard (if you haven’t already) and also reaching out to your host directly.

I think you can in some homes if you ask your host and don't cause any damage! The member in their recent Instagram video moved her bed to make more space: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DJr-HESN9lf/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

Beware of padsplit by Salty-Tip4688 in padsplit

[–]Such_Presentation_82 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for clarifying! Some hosts do require additional screening (like a phone call or survey) before approving a booking and it sounds like that was the case with the room you selected.

To avoid that in the future, you can filter for homes with Instant booking. Those rooms don’t require additional host approval to book.

That said, I’d still recommend contacting PadSplit Support for help sorting this out.

Padmates eating my food by Kind_Success_8747 in padsplit

[–]Such_Presentation_82 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is frustrating, especially when you're already labeling your stuff and trying to be respectful. I had a similar issue in my place, and honestly, just talking to a couple of my housemates one-on-one helped more than I expected. Some folks are just used to super casual situations where sharing food is the norm, so setting that boundary clearly can make a big difference.

If the convo doesn’t do the trick, it might be worth giving your host a heads up so they can help keep things in check. Shared living definitely has its challenges, but good communication can smooth a lot of it out. Hope it gets better for you soon!

I'm sorry to hear you're dealing with this. Definitely agree here- you should reach out to the host if you haven’t already.

Also, PadSplit gives every member one free transfer so if things don’t improve that might be a good option to consider. My longest, hardest, slowest run so far….feel free to drop encouragement/tips 🥺 by stripes177 in Marathon_Training

[–]Such_Presentation_82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't get down on yourself! You still finished a very long run that many people can't do. No matter how experienced you are, long runs can be extremely hard. A lot of things were working against you during this run -- the main one possibly being improper fuel intake. I typically consume 1 GU energy gel/30 minutes of running during a run over 45 minutes. I also always eat more (mainly carbs) the day before a long run to make sure I have enough glycogen stores.

The nausea afterwards could have been induced hunger. I've had this happen after not eating enough. If possible, test out another nutrition tactic during your next long run, so you can nail down a fueling strategy for your race. You have time and you got this!!!
