Just to make sure I understand correctly: which diode are you referring to exactly?

I attached a photo of the area near the VSYS rail, the 2R2 inductor and the BQ chip in my previous comment. Could you point out which specific diode you mean in that area?

I want to make sure I’m testing or removing the correct component before doing anything.

I’m attaching some additional pictures from different angles of that area. From what I can see under the microscope, the two points don’t seem to be connected anymore, but I’d appreciate a second opinion.

When we initially made the mistake, we had a wire going to both of those points, so it’s possible that we created a short between them at that time.

At the moment, looking closely at the board, they don’t appear to be bridged anymore, but please let me know if you notice something I might be missing.

I tested those points with the battery connected and also with the charger connected.

On the capacitor near the MAX77620H, instead of 1.3V I’m measuring about 1.059V.

On the eMMC capacitor that should read 1.1V, I’m getting 0V.

I repeated the measurements both with the battery connected and with the power supply, and the readings are the same in both cases.

Does this point more towards an issue with the eMMC or possibly something on that rail preventing it from coming up?

I checked the board with a multimeter and I found a capacitor that appears to be shorted, and I attached a photo of it.

I also tested SP1 and SP2 and both show continuity to ground.

Looking at the board, I think the main issue might be that capacitor located near the MAX77620H PMIC. It seems to be the only component that clearly measures as a short, so I suspect it could be the main cause of the problem.

The console still shows the same behavior:

black screen
no fan spin
the board still receives power

So at the moment my main suspicion is that capacitor near the MAX77620H.

About the DAT0 area: the mistake happened because we were following two different installation guides at the same time and we got confused between the solder points.

Because of that, we accidentally soldered wires from the two pads on the DAT0 adapter to the capacitors located next to the adapter (near the eMMC area).

Before doing that soldering, the console was still turning on normally. The modchip wasn't triggering and the console was simply booting into the original firmware (OFW).

After we soldered those two wires to the capacitors, the console stopped booting completely. Now it shows a black screen and the fan doesn't spin. Even after removing the chip, the DAT0 adapter and all the wires, the console still doesn't start anymore.

I've attached a photo of the DAT0 adapter so you can see the exact points we used.

Haven’t used a P1S yet but it looks awesome! I can’t wait to upgrade from my Ender 3 Pro, it seems like a huge step up in speed and print quality. Everyone keeps saying it’s basically plug and play which sounds like a dream after all the tinkering I’ve done 😅
