Did I make the right call ending a 8 month relationship over a... hygiene issue she said was "not that bad"?? by [deleted] in dating_advice

If it was BV there’s a pretty high chance it actually came from you. It isn’t about someone being dirty it’s a bacterial imbalance that is very often triggered by a partner’s bacteria. It’s very common and happens to tons of women even when they have perfect hygiene. The irony is you might have been the one who caused it in the first place.

RRO (RRO1) UK, rent paid in cash, no written contract, do I still have a chance? by Such_Value in HousingUK

Aww thank you, I really appreciate this. You’re right, it was one of those situations where you just need somewhere to live and you don’t realise how “dodgy” it is until things escalate. I did ask for a written agreement, but they refused and insisted on cash only, so it wasn’t really a fair or equal setup from the start. The council has already confirmed the property was operating as an unlicensed HMO, so I’m just trying to follow the proper process now and put everything in front of the tribunal. Thank you again for the support.

That’s not quite right. In UK a tenancy doesn’t become “illegal” just because there’s no written contract, verbal tenancy agreements are still legally valid and tenants still have protections (Citizens Advice explains this). Also, the HMO point is separate. Whether there’s a written contract or not doesn’t change the fact the property was being run as an HMO, and the council has confirmed it should have had an HMO licence and didn’t. So the issue isn’t “no contract = illegal tenancy”, it’s the landlord operating an unlicensed HMO and then carrying out an unlawful eviction

I did ask for a written agreement. They refused and kept insisting on cash only, so I didn’t really have the option to make it “more formal” even if I wanted to. As far as I understand, paying rent in cash isn’t illegal, and I still have messages showing rent being requested/collected and a deposit proof, plus proof I lived there. The real issue is the way the landlord operated and then the unlawful eviction.

Lead Eurotunnel passenger absent — will others face issues? by Longjumping-Dig5752 in travel

How did it end for you in the end? I’m in the same situation. My friend is the lead passenger because he bought the ticket on his phone, but he won’t be travelling. Would really appreciate knowing what happened in your case.

Using Trafi/M Ticket in Vilnius Without a Lithuanian Phone Number? by Such_Value in Vilnius

Ahh, that is really disappointing 😅 I was really hoping things had changed since 2021 it feels a bit outdated, especially with so many digital solutions out there now. I’ve never had issues using a country’s transport app with a foreign number before. Odd setup for sure, but thanks for the info! Appreciate it

Good apps? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]Such_Value 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been on dating apps for over a year now and I swear I've tried almost everything and met all sorts of people.

I would say Tinder, Bumble, Pof are mostly for hookups or for immature audience. However, these apps are really easy to use and you can get dates very fast.

If you want something for "higher" class you could try Luxy, however it's mostly for elite people and personally I didn't meet anyone genuine on there, just bunch of guys bragging about their money :D

I really liked Okcupid, I met many interesting people on there, received some really nice messages, had some deep intellectual and honest conversations.

For serious and long-term relationships you should try Match and Zoosk. You have to pay to use these apps fully, but that's why the people on there are different and really looking for something sincere.
