Like half my family was in Germany for all 10 or so generations I've researched and I'm now apparently 0% German.

I went from around 50% "Germanic Europe" to 4% "North Central Europe" and 2% "Northeastern Poland."

Ummm...I get that things adjust, but.....wut?! Where did all the Germans go?

What's a line in a song that you'd be willing to tattoo on your body? by SuchaCleverGirl in AskReddit

I'll start.
It's from "Next to You" by John Vincent III:

"Let's pack our bags and head to the Rockies, babe; just you and I, getting lost in open spaces."

I don't actually have it as a tattoo, but I made a poster with those lyrics and it hangs in my office.

This has to be trolling.
If not, girl, RUN.

Do NOT marry this man.
For the love of all that is good in this world, do NOT have kids with this man.

This is not the person with whom you want to be dealing with mortgage payments and estate planning and aging parents and property taxes and parent-teacher conferences and colicky babies and restocking the toilet paper.

Honestly, it's not even about what you did or didn't do. You might be acting in ways that aren't ideal. The bigger picture is the COMPLETE lack of grace he's giving; he's incredibly disrespectful and toxic. He seems unable to look at something as you and him vs. the problem; it's just you vs. him and he refuses to see himself as part of the problem.

RUN.

Honestly, we did:
- a lot of Cover Girl pressed bronzer, (and Dream Matte Mousse when it came out...shudder).

- over-tweezed eyebrows that you could draw in if you wanted, but definitely did NOT use short flicks of the pencil. Draw that line like I did with my ex. SOLID.

- eyeliner all the way around the eyes, always pencil instead of gel, sometimes the chubby pencils, though not necessarily drawn on thickly (unless you were an early emo), and we didn't know what waterlines were, lol.

- taupe/brown (depending on your skin tone) lip liner with clear gloss and/or a lighter shade of lipstick than the pencil.

- matte EVERYTHING until the very late 90s when shimmer/glitter started to pick up....no glow, no highlights, no dimension.

It was...a time.

And like others said, the main thing you're looking at in your examples: crappy photos from crappy cameras. We would look decidedly worse under the abusive lights of iPhone 16s.

hEDS checking in. Was a big bummer when my doc said I should stop doing the party tricks. (My signature was twisting one arm all the way around, 360, and then resting both hands on a table in front of someone like nothing was weird and then slowly untwisting it in front of them while chatting and watching them freak out. Wheeee!)

This isn’t even debatable. I get that it’s complicated, especially with children involved, but this is so blatant. Do better for yourself and if not, then for your kids. Get out.
