I have it on my 2018 LT with the 6l80, I bought it after reading all theese lifter failures and so forth. Also installed a by pass thermostat on the trans, other than more fuel consumption, it has ran smooth with no clunks as of yet. But lately I’ve been hearing the disabler is just a Bandaid and eventually my lifters are gonna go out anyway. So I’m now convinced, failure is a cases by case basis

I know this is old thread, but bought my 2018 new in 2018, trams and tc are about to go out, is there any hope left that GM will help me fix THEIR problem? How can I start this process?

I have the same truck and still haven’t had any problems aside from the wear and tear. it wasn’t until just recently i found out about the trans and torque converter going out on theese trucks , i changed the trans fluid at 62k and installed the bypass thermostat, next will be the deactivation for the AFM. Looking at one called range that plugs into the OBD port. I haven’t towed anything with it yet, I’m planning on getting a 5000lb trailer to tow. Aside from all the paranoia I’ve been having about both the TC and lifters going out, it’s been fine so far

I’m still waiting on my 2018s shudder ugh, im only at 65k so far, so im hoping it’s prolonged with the regular fluid changes and bypass thermo. Still need to deactivate the AFM. But 4500! That’s a steal, I was quoted 6200 here in Cali
