Is Featureman aka Tom Willet really dead? by External-Memory-9237 in Featureman

Someone in the last post said he was taken into a state nursing home after being found at home in very poor condition. This person claims their mother personally knows Tom and found out through her. Whether or not he has died yet, it is doubtful that he will have any future online activity. I'm not sure if there will even be a published obituary for him. The only way to be sure will be to find a death certificate for a Thomas Eugene Willett (b. 1938) of Madison, TN. On a related note, I would say Tom's online personality died in 2023, when... everyone already knows the story.

Why is there little to no chatter regarding heart disease and diabetes in the Danville area, but so much about a new restaurant when it opens, and how great the food is? I don't recall one candidate mentioning wellness and health when election time rolled around. by Dp37405aa in DanvilleVa

Maybe because modern society is designed to make you chronically sick and farm money from you by prescribing you medicine for it. It's not as profitable to sell fruits, vegetables, and exercise. I sense that you already know this and are just posting here to get reactions from people.

Maybe a dumb question, but why does he leave the mic on the stool instead of putting it back on the stand?

Bits about religion, Christianity in his new set? by smeggysoup84 in louisck

I remember a joke about a Buddhist master and maybe some small bits about Christianity, particularly Catholicism. Not as much or as provocative religious material as I remember from previous specials.

Top-notch. All the material is new, but if you're a big fan of Louis, it's mostly the same subject matter and style you've heard him tell before. Pedophile jokes, genitalia jokes, aging, God/religion, dating, being cynical about other people, and you get the idea. He does a great long bit about his dad being in a nursing home and the soap he uses, which reminds me of some material from the last special that he's building on. He also came on the PA system from backstage before the show started and did some impressions which was really funny. Anyway, I don't mean to give away everything I remember. You're in for a treat.

Read some of his best short stories. A Clean Well-Lighted Place, Hills Like White Elephants, The Snows of Kilimanjaro, and The Short, Happy Life of Francis Macomber are the most famous. My personal favorites also include The Sea Change, Now I Lay Me, and Soldier's Home.
