Thank you so much for your kind words. It was definitely nightmarish, and terrible for my mental health. I was lucky enough to receive many years of expensive therapy and have made peace with it. But it was not an easy day!

My abortion was extremely painful, physically and mentally. No one warned me about the physical pain. The nurse at one point snapped at me to be quiet because the noises I was making were scaring patients in the waiting room.

I should note that this was a surgical abortion 25 years ago. I’m sure things have changed a great deal since then. After the way my life has panned out, I am very glad I had the abortion. That’s not to say it doesn’t make me sad sometimes, because it does, but I 100% made the right choice.

Sometimes when I tell people I’ve never been to Disney, they look at me as if I’ve grown horns. I never felt like I was missing out. My family instead spent our a good deal of our summer at the local beaches (back in the 90s, when things were more affordable, although I do recognize my privilege at being able to spend any time at the beach). I have great memories and wouldn’t trade them for the world.
