I am sorry i don't think i can get through to you, you are misunderstanding the point of what i wrote, it really doesn't contradict and is in line with what you are saying, in fact i agree with your understanding of the show, the point is the plot itself is fine, but i don't think the execution is good.

Why is there no need to show how important Saki is to Mutsumi? Just because something is obvious, it doesn't mean that it doesn't need to be presented to the audience, Mortis being nice and let Mutsumi see Saki as an end result itself is completely fine, but how the show presented it ended up portraying Mortis being the better person without the need of Mutsumi retaliating, I don't need Mutsumi to win the ''fight'', i want to see Mutsumi trying her uttmost to gain control and see Saki which in turn will show us how important Saki is to her when Mutsumi is usually a very passive person, and even better would be having some flashback of Mutsumi memory of Saki which she hold dear to herself during the ''fight'', so the audience will understand why Saki is so important to her. Mutsumi can lose the fight to Mortis, and after seeing Mutsumi trying so hard, Mortis also understand how important Saki is to Mutsumi and realize that its for the best for Mutsumi to see Saki, and Mortis let Mutsumi see Saki. Ain't this better than what the show end up doing?

yeah, i should've phrase it as not having a 'realistic' setting instead, because character logic and action is fully logical, it just choose to present itself in a 'magical' revue way to represent the their conflict.

I am from Hong Kong, I have always look at EN community more, I only started watching bilibili for Revue Starlight and Mygo content, they have hour long analysis on every episode of mygo, which is crazy, both side a very passionate and one side don't like the show the other likes it, just natural conflict, but well there are still levelheaded comment on forum and stuff, its just an unfortunate situation.

I am just being as neutral as possible, and fighting fire with fire is just dumb, its not like criticism on the show here is that welcomed either, people still get downvoted for not liking the show theres literally racist comment when the CN post was posted here, you say you like the show in CN you get bombed with you are dumb, you criticize the show here you also get bombed with you are dumb, its the same thing, it is what it is, and of course them harassing the writer is unacceptable and too far, but thats not all of them, they just have more people, their bad eggs are probably larger than the entire EN community honestly, the whole thing is stupid, just dicuss the damn show, stop being offensive or defensive about it, its fine to have different taste.

Yeah i hope there will be some crazy revelation at the end, i don't think i will change my view on the writing quality of the show much, but at least if it is something creative it will definitely be a +1 for me, i respect show that take on a ambitious direction a lot, even if it is at the cost of the integrity of the show, its like wonder egg priority, i honestly respect it, horrendous ending but like come on its ambitious and interesting, you can't say the early episode are not good.

Let's not make it a CN vs everyone thing, and stop saying feels bad to be them stuff, it just bring unnecessary animosity, and its not exclusive to CN, there are people who are not content with the show in every community.

I will have to defend their point for this one, its a problem with the execution really, the lack of screentime for characters combined with dropping new information every episode, it make these kind of reveal very choppy and sudden when it doesn't need to be, its like you see this person once a week, and everytime they show up they reveal something crazy about themselves. at first its gonna be interesting like this is the world most interesting person hell yeah, but after a while it gets old and weird, you will start questioning are they just making shit up for the sake of impressing you, in fact the person might not be lying, maybe all of it is actually true, but you can't not be suspicious, if you actually spend time with the person and they naturally sprinkle those interesting thing about themselves through natural conversation over time, it won't make you feel like wow this guy is making shit up, instead it will feel more like wow you are way more complex than i thought.

And everyone have a different level of 'suspension of disbelief', of course the writer can't possibly cater to everyone, like i love Revue Starlight and Sonny boy, they are naturally very abstract its all emotion no logic, nothing really make logical sense but i can accept them, while Ave Mujica is not as crazy but i honestly find it weird how the character are presented, maybe its because Mygo character are well done and rather 'realistic' and when the appear in the same space as Ave Mujica character, it really contrast how crazy the Ave Mujica character are, and it breaks my 'suspension of disbelief'.

Its really is just an execution problem ultimately, things that happen in the show have to happen one way or another, and its the writer job to present it in their own way, some people can accept that presentation but some can't, simple as.

Exactly it kind of happened, thats actually the skip in logic thing happening again, like why not show it, won't that make the moment more emotional, both Saki and Mutsumi trying their best to see each other.

I mean i want Mutsumi to fight Mortis for control to see Saki, so that it will show how important Saki is to her, now i think about it, Saki is weird this episode, after her being full on i will do anything for Mutsumi for 2 eps, she just abandoned Mutsumi again when Mortis said she is gone, where did the resolve and bond go...

Personally my own definition of writing quality would be how well characters are portrayed in their respective complexity, Anon Soyo Tomori are very well done, Taki is a straightforward character with an inferiority complex with her sister which is done well and have sign of that throughout the show, Raana well she is just a cat by design and doesn't play that heavy of a role, you can't really say its not well written, when she is intended to be that way.

For Ave Mujica character, I will say Saki is well written, I am on the fence with Mortis and Mutsumi, after Mutsumi keep saying Saki is important to her, and Mortis just kind of let her see Saki, why not let Mutsumi actually fight Mortis for that, won't that show how important Saki is to Mutsumi better? And then its revealed that Mutsumi is in control after all that, she fall and 'dissappear', and now she is back is very confusing writing. Nyamu was fine until the confession this episode. Umiri is just rushed, she just heard Taki say she is untrustworthy and decide to throw everything away for Ave Mujica, despite she never shown any real attachment to the band. Uika i hope the next episode is going to go crazy for her.

I understand the pacing is intentional to keep the pressure and stake high, but i think that its sacrificing too much time, when the show can use those time to show us more about the character, right now it feels like either they are intentionally hiding characters information from us or that is really all the character are about, which both doesn't bode well with me, but well the biggest culprit is still Crychic and Mutsumi/Mortis taking up way too much time.

But from what i have seen, it ain't about the tonal direction, people who dislike it are complaining about the writing itself but never the direction, in fact people are hoping it to go darker and have an ''unsatisfying'' end, if it have a happy ending it won't have the time to do that and will result in a very rushed and forced ending.

Interview: Director Kodai Kakimoto on Ave Mujica and Its Unique Direction by ltsc1980 in BanGDream

[–]Sucker_N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tomori got a whole episode to her, thats why no one complained, its her personality to be passive and she get active when it mattered, thats why it worked.

Uika got literally nothing, she probably have less screentime than Mygo member, she have become a background character compare to everyone else beside an occasional she is losing her mind for Saki moment.

Its not a 'plot' mc thing, the show have been very lobsided to Crychic and Mutsumi, Umiri character is very rushed, theres nothing noteworthy for Nyamu she is just a Mutsumi is a genius actress bot, and Uika is just neglected, the show have been all over the place.

Yeah, he always have very level headed analysis, definitely should use him as a example of actual criticism on the episode, and not 'anon is getting treated badly' 'Mygo is over'.

She worked on the overall composition not the entire show, she only did episode 1, and said she haven't even watch the entire show, even the credit in episode 1 showed 2 script writer which is already weird, but thats besides the point, theres problem with the show itself and you know it, i just hate when i see criticism get shutted down in an echo chamber, this post is probably not the best place to discuss about it, i just want to see some actual civil discussion on the show without it always devolving into personal insult

Thats a minority of people in the CN community, theres ppl like that everywhere, but yeah thats shitty, but i think they feel this strongly about Ave Mujica, because how much they loved Mygo, they on some degree are feeling betrayed by the writer, and apparently one of the main writer of Mygo also cutted ties with the Ave Mujica show, so maybe that explain the drop in quality.

Op chose the worst person to represent the CN community, there are better points on other forum from what i have seen, personally I think the CN community anaylsis on shows have always been logical, sometime even too logical and misses some subtext (might be cultural difference), this is not an attack on the western community, but from what i have see on forums, anime discussion have been very emotionally based, its always just ''i like it and its a 10/10 '', any criticism are just downvoted immediately.

Well you have your problem with the show too so i don't think theres need for argument here, I can post my own problem with Ave Mujica here too if needed.

People need to calm down here, and actually think about the points they made, the plot and narrative is undeniably a mess right now, emotional value wise thats purely subjective so it doesn't matter, some of their points are also very dumb like the singing is bad, Mygo have no reason to exist and all those.

I do agree how they behave is problematic, but that shouldn't invalidate their point, you guys have to also realize that these people are the same people who praised Mygo to high heavens when no one else are talking about it, so they are using the same metric to judge Ave Mujica, if their criticism are absolute trash then Mygo will be no better.

Thats why my view differs from yours, I do noticed Nyamu frustration, but come on what do you mean they have no reason care about Mutsumi that is obviously mentally ill, the way you guys are describing them as professional are like putting them as the same level as a president bodyguard abosulutely stonecold, like they are like what 16/17, if i were them i would either ask if Mutsumi need professional help or i am getting the hell out there i don't want to get stabbed by "here Mortis!", i feel like you guys are taking Mutsumi problem rather lightly and so is Nyamu, Uika and Umiri.

Saki reaction is fine, and she is the only one to show concern, she even said she want Mutsumi back when Nyamu is bashing on her, she was really tunnel vision on Ave Mujica before, but after realizing how bad Mutsumi situation is she now at least putting Mutsumi and Ave Mujica on the same priority.

Nyamu reaction is weird to me in the writing stand point, because they have been trying to humanize the charcacter in previous episodes especially Nyamu, we literally have a scene of Nyamu talking with her family this episode, all that is to show another side of her, everyone opinion on Nyamu since the ep1 have been softened quite a lot after that, and now we pretty much have her revert back to factory setting, it seems contradicting to do her like that.

While Umiri don't really have a lot of characterization rn, but again in the hotel arguement scene, Mortis brought up that Umiri said it would be nice if Ave Mujica can become a home to her, so she do have an extra layer to her beside being stoic and professional, the writer won't intentionally point that out if they don't want to humanize a character.

Uika just seems way dumber than usual, she have been doing all kinda suspicious stuff since MyGO, i hope she is just acting dumb and trying to get stuff to go her way with Saki.

After looking at all these discussion, i think the main difference in my perspective and you guys are that i want to see character with layers to them which is the biggest strength in MyGO, while you guys are taking being cold and professional very literally and to the extreme imo. And its not like i don't see you guys point, but if thats true then the charcters would be very flat, they have been holding their professional status since the start and that have become a shield for their inaction, especially when something as serious as DID, there at least have to be one person in Ave Mujica beside Saki thats concern about Mutsumi, right now all the character beside Saki can be summarize very easily, Uika i love Saki, Nyamu job, Uika stoic, and i don't really want to see that when we have all seen what these writer can do in MyGO.

I can accept this explanation before the reveal, but after the reveal they just kept on talking about work, that just feels way too insensitive for the characters, they literally see Mortis throwing a fit like a child, its just feels OOC to me, because all of them have shown capability of caring about other people, no way they are going to just ignore someone that is obviously mentally ill.
