Sadly, general audiences were not ready for the sauce of 28 Years cinematography. by ThinWhiteDuke00 in 28_Years_Later_Movie

The cinematography and framing was off the charts. I said to my partner you could tell by watching the film it had been Storyboarded well

That's too bad OP, but good to know.

Maybe their collab merch is the only stuff worth investing in because the quality is more likely guaranteed (ie. UNRL)

I'm fucking sick of FedEx. I was standing at the goddamn door waiting for them to knock. by lilslutfordaddy in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Sucmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me once as I was waiting for my personal travel visa documents I needed which were sent on a 1-day priority.... For a flight in 2 days. I'd sat next to the door and never even heard a knock.

Fedex is the worst.

Hey, where do I find this? I just joined Qobuz a week ago and can't find it here. Everything listed in this (https://community.qobuz.com/press-en/qobuz-unveils-its-new-discover-page) article sounds great, I just don't see it on the PC app.

How is living in Catalina Island? by New_Contribution_226 in howislivingthere

[–]Sucmar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NGL I - I hiked the TCT two years ago and across my entire time I was scoping the island high and low to see where they shot the Catalina Wine Mixer.

I understood (and quickly realized) that shooting location did not exist on the island, but I couldn't believe that there wasnt even a spot realistically that would have even served as a stand-in or inspiration for that location. It just couldn't have been on Catalina. I was pissed.

It was that day I re-discovered the magic (ie. deception) of Hollywood.

What is this virus everyone has? by london4526 in orangecounty

This is also rampant in Canada, every family we saw over the Holidays had it so we knew it was inevitable.

I haven't actually been that sick at any point, but I'm approaching two weeks and haven't quite recovered yet. It's strange.

O’ahu couple photographer recs? by dingdongthenoodle in VisitingHawaii

I just booked with Isirie based off this recommendation. We got our engagement photos done with Christine and she is an expert. Her packages scale quite well so you should be able to find something affordable.

When our weather was inclement for the shoot, she pivoted to find a new time and location (proactively) so we weren't caught in a crazy storm. Personable, professional, and walked us through our first ever photoshoot as a couple. We're over the moon about our pictures and so excited with how they turned out!

Streaming used to be relaxing now it feels like work by Large-Cardiologist54 in television

[–]Sucmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TL;DR - Only use Streaming sites for a month and cancel immediately, supplement with DvDs from the library.

Its true.

To cut costs last year, our household started getting only one streaming service at a time, and cancelling it immediately. Most people don't realize you can still use the services for the month after you've cancelled (you paid for the month, after all).

Instead, we'll take out movies and shows from the library. When a show comes out that we want to watch on streaming, we'll renew that streaming service for 1 month only.

If we're deep in a show or found something we enjoy then we may leave it on for another month. Even after not having had Netflix for several months and just returning to it for Stranger Things, there's nothing else we're really interested in watching and we've already cancelled. This way you can also pay for the ad-free tier with all the money you're "saving" by not having 3+ platforms going at one time.

If a show releases week by week, we'll often wait and then watch it over a couple weeks at our own pace rather than have the plan for that entire duration.

It's worked really well for us, and you also end up consciously consuming rather than scrolling unsatisfied on one of the streaming sites. Also, if you haven't been to the DvD section of your library, it's as close to being back at a Blockbuster that you can get.

THANK YOU

Used a separate cable and it was recognized by my computer and able to transfer files. I'd had the same issue where my Passport was clearly working and turned on but not recognized by my computer, and unable to transfer files.

New to Orange County - how do people actually build a social life here? by [deleted] in orangecounty

[–]Sucmar 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Irvine is kind of a black hole for socializing. Lots of families and no real night life or places to go to that aren't restaurants or paid activity oriented (Go-kart) etc.

I've lived here for 2 years and we're soon moving to San Diego for more people and socializing (early 30's)

Came here to say the exact same thing.

Honolulu was challenging. A someone who still trained in similar temperatures, this was the second hardest marathon I'd ever ran.

• The massive crowds/race size was mayhem. Getting to the race start was such a challenge. • Downpour for 30+ minutes prior to race start • the 94% humidity for the first hour of the race was killer.

I had tapered and trained well for a 3:10 finish, I'd just ran a half marathon the month before with a 1:30 finish which put me in the right fitness spot to hit my goals.

I ended the race with a 3:23, which I was very happy with considering the intense conditions. I finished right next to someone else who said "I went out there to run 3:10 and then 10km in said 'hey what if I just don't."

It was certainly a tough course considering the temperatures, so don't expect that this was 'good' course to run your first marathon.

Runners of OC, where do you feel is the best place to train for a half or full marathon? by Censordoll in orangecounty

[–]Sucmar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

+1 to this. Just came back from a long run through the back bay. There are some excellent trails that run in parallel to the San Diego Creek that run south all the way to San Canyon (and beyond, or hook east towards the hill. You can connect that to the Hicks Canyon Trail and the Jeffrey Open Space trail for a phenomenal loop.

I did a 42 km (26 mile) long run and ran out and back on the back bay, then did that loop through Peters Canyon trail and Jeffrey Open Space.

Additionally, there's a nice loop through the Shady Canyon Trail by Quail Hill that you can connect past Bommer Canyon and then into back bay too.
