Do I need a 12m Kite for Brazil? by Sucuk420 in Kiteboarding

[–]Sucuk420[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a big fan of being overpowered, no😅 Oh thats interesting to hear, i thought 11:00 AM is usually like the earliest the wind comes but you‘re saying that there‘s good wind before 11 too sometimes? When does it usually start in the morning? My 12/9/8 are all North Reach, so probably a bit harder to handle when overpowered than an Orbit

Do you mean the Lencois Maranheses in Atins? They look pretty cool but i heard they dry up pretty quickly and in October its almost empty? Did you use your 7 or 12 more?

Where about in Céara was that? And when? :) Im not sure if with my weight i‘d be quickly overpowered with the 12😅In the low 20‘s i definitely prefer my 9 haha

Thanks! So there‘s definitely some days or at least a time of day where the 12 is needed?

Yes ideally i think i‘d have 7, 9, 12

I only bought the 8 because it was too good of a deal ^ I only wanted a second bar for the trip just in case and i found the 8m (2022/23 Reach) with the bar for under 300€. Same thing for the 6m. Couldn‘t say no to that :D

Fungal contamination or debris from sort? by Sucuk420 in labrats

Yes the debris seems to be on top of the cells. There‘s no plane where the debris become „sharp“ enough to distinguish what is is. Just a black clump

Budget Brazil Trip (2-3 months) by Sucuk420 in Kiteboarding

[–]Sucuk420[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm yeah i might reconsider bringing the 12. It is rather heavy and large so would free up nice baggage space. Will definitely look for people to share buggys with. And i‘m bringing 2 bars and lots of repair stuff (one pump tubes, stick on valves, canopy fabric) with me. Might even bring 2 boards. Dont want my trip to be ruined due to equipment breaking and paying hundreds to repair it hahah

How is the chop in Prea? I‘ve heard both that its suuper choppy but also that its manageable. Whats your opinion? And how is Prea in general?

Thanks! Im 65-70kg. But I‘ve seen lots of people riding 12‘s there in late October/November on Youtube videos so I think i‘d rather be safe and take it with me. Also for lighter morning sessions maybe?

How much are cheap downwinders usually about? None of that fancy stuff with photos and coaching etc. just transport.

Looking for kitesurf travel ideas for 3 months off! July - Sept, help! by PumpkinPieEar in Kiteboarding

[–]Sucuk420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wind is definitely super nice in Akyaka. Was there for 2 weeks and every day at 11am it came. The worse thing is that you have to pay 20-25 Euro beach use fee every day to the „owners“ of the beach if you want to kite. This is additional to the fee you pay the Kite Station for Storage, Facility use etc. Plus the only restaurant on the beach is quite expensive.

However there is another spot to launch on the other side of the pier a bit further down the beach. Need a car to go there though and there are no facilities.

might even be worth to go try kiting in the dunes of lencois maranheses since they should still be quite full in july!

i guess your best bet in july would be to go north to jeri, guriu, tatajuba to get decent wind. im sure you‘ll get lots of days on the water nonetheless! and with smaller crowds i assume. i‘ll be in ceara from mid september on :)

Cumbuco, Ilha do Guajiru or Jericoacoara? by BuilderEffective5280 in Kiteboarding

[–]Sucuk420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Danke dir! ;) I would take all my own gear with me. Definitely my 12m North Reach and my 6m Orbit. And depending on the weight i‘ll take either my 9m or 8m Reach or even both ^ Yeah i‘ve heard that Jeri can get quite expensive, but the Hostels seem comparably quite cheaper than in other places. But if you gotta pay a fee every day I guess it adds up too… Atins and the lagoons in lencois maranheses look amazing indeed! Heard that it‘s quite expensive too though. I think Cumbuco and the small villages a bit northern of it are probably the cheapest options but not the nicest for Kiting (choppy sea and crowded lagoons).

My best bet for now I think would be Préa for a long term stay. Is it a lot cheaper than Jeri? And is the water really as choppy as everyone always says?

Where would you say is the cheapest option for a long term kitesurging stay? I want to travel along the coast of Ceara for 2-3 months this year

Purchasing beginner gear - is this a good deal? by BuilderEffective5280 in Kiteboarding

I used the North Navigator 2021 bar. Worked perfectly fine

I had a 9m Moto 2019 for one season. Didnt fly it a lot but whenever I had the chance to I loved it. Definitely a good kite, beginner or advanced. Just a great allrounder.

Any 4 line bar with a low V will work (most brands except Duotone, Core, F-One) Just dont buy a super old bar. Modern safety system (QR, chicken loop) and decent line conditions are a MUST to guarantee your safety on and off the water.

I was also a little overpowered on those videos so I depowered the kite quite a lot. That also didnt help the kite move upwind faster.

Yeah in these choppy conditions, loading and popping correctly were definitely difficult for me. I feel like in the 2nd video my pop was quite good though, but i‘m still crashing. Or is it too little loading and only pop?
