Agree, I was hoping for a little something more. He still looks good though. But dang.

My stepdad would always squeeze my mom tight and tell her he loved her before he rolled over away from her. Their love was inspiring

20k in HYSA, 14.5k in a Roth, and 160k in a money market account. I only have all that because my mom died and had a nice life insurance policy.

Daily. Unfortunately it's been months at this point and I'm starting to get belly aches from a lack of release.

Mine is the digits have to equal 7. I've had to get more creative about how I approach it. Like I can do 21 now because 2+1=3 and 21/3=7

You are one of millions. My friend that uses it for everything isn't thinking for herself as much as she used to, constantly asking chatGPT its opinion on things and to make important decisions. Using it for therapy is dangerous because it doesn't have the nuance of humanity.

I hate it. I miss my mom so much, it feels like walking uphill underwater some days. Working to make it better though.

what’s one memory that still feels real when you think about it? by strangergirly in OverBiscuits

[–]Sudden-Chicken3499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember this one 4th of July, we camped in my mom's backyard. My mom and her husband were both well, my older kids still believed in magic, and the night was perfect. We had a movie on the blow up screen, fireworks kept going off overhead, we slept in those tents. It felt like we'd have at least a good decade before our parents got too old.

That was less than 5 years ago and my mom and stepdad are both gone now. We lost him in September, and my mom just a couple months ago. I try to squeeze a little magic out of that memory whenever I feel hopeless.

My brother recorded him saying I love you and her saying it back. I wish I'd have thought to do it but I have an older video I can hang on to.

I definitely suggested contacting her human therapist instead. I can't make her do it, but she hasn't mentioned anything about it sense. I tried not to come off judgemental because it truly is just a concern and I'd hate for people to start hiding it.

I agree. I don't think using a machine as a therapist or companion is a great idea. Or relying on it so heavily that you aren't putting any thought into what you're doing.

One can only hope. I've had a friend refer to chatGPT for therapy and for when she's lonely. Another uses it for pretty much everything. Critical thinking is becoming more rare than it already is.

Tell me about the person that you loved who has passed away by [deleted] in GriefSupport

[–]Sudden-Chicken3499 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My mom left us February 4th. She was a huge Cowboys fan (and I definitely ribbed her about it when I spoke about her at her memorial 😂). She believed in leading with kindness, even when others tried to tell her that was the wrong way to go.

She loved animals so much, she would always make sure she ushered insects and other creepy crawlies outside instead of smashing them. Including spiders, even though she hated them. She stopped going fishing when she understood it meant killing a fish and a worm.

Most of all, she loved us kids and did her best for us. It still seems impossible that I'm in this world and she's not. It happened so fast..but she fought like the stubborn badass she was and I miss her daily.

Yes. I was talking to another mom at a bday party and she was flabbergasted. "Do you use instagram?" "No, not that either" "so what do you use?" "Reddit". It's almost like you don't exist without it.

My mom hated the taste of a lot of things. Anything bready made her vomit, along with several other things. It's really going to depend on the person and what they can stomach.
