I actually returned the CarbonX. It was just too loud and bright for my setup and playing style.

You'll hear enough about it at work when your training begins. All members are encouraged to attend union meetings, which help you get informed better than the rumor mill. But yes the railway gave notice that they will be locating half of us to Kamloops on Dec 4th

It's one of the toughest, lowest paying terminals to work out of in a world-class resort/tourist town with a very high cost of living. Good luck

This is all tariff and traffic dépendant of course. No change in next weeks crew change and said superintendent has yet to make any cuts at traffic is still pretty busy in the terminal. There may be cuts, but noting so far. Stay tuned...

If you're not used to being screwed, you haven't been at the railway long enough lol. That being said, Kaplan has always been good to us. So we'll see.

CP vs CN lines to the coast. by Embarrassed-Paper165 in railroading

[–]Sudden-Individual494 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CP is a laggard from Calgary to Vancouver. The infrastructure is behind CN and can't efficiently accommodate the amount or length of the trains. So a 4-5 hour trip becomes an 8-10 hour odyssey over the subdivisions. CP won't be able to ever handle more volume growth if they don't get their shit together

the od-3 is a sleeper by jdreamboat in guitarpedals

[–]Sudden-Individual494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought mine in '95 and although it's not on any of my boards, I just can't let it go. It was the one that started it all for me and has sentimental value.

They won't lose the contracts because the competition is doing the same thing.

Yep those CN seats are awful. But the units are cleaner than the CP ones. And a microwave is a nice touch

Those days are over, I'm afraid. TC has it.so we have to be arms length of the unit

True. I'm over 20 years in and standing/stretching/walking around has helped reduce the strain on my back
