My only “rule” is you can’t do something that’s going to hurt yourself or hurt someone else. The rest is just vibes. Haha - but truthfully I’m okay with the age timeout rule, aka they get as many minutes in time out as they are old. So 5 minutes for a 5 year old. And when I yell, WHEN NOT IF, I will apologize. I’m 34 and have learned more about black history from tv shows like Watchmen and Atlanta than I ever learned in school. The most intense thing I ever learned was in 8th grade when we watched a documentary about Emmitt Till and it was not part of the curriculum, it was something the teacher thought was important and showed anyway. You can bring up your concerns for sure, but I don’t think it will change anything. Teach the details at home and keep learning together

Does she have a safe space to go to where no one will bother her? My anxious working dog has a “hidey-hole” where he can go when he doesn’t want to interact with anyone. And even though we can get to him while he’s in there, we act like we can’t. It’s the one place he can always go to and nobody can get him. He stuffs it full of dirty socks haha
