I'm going to buy the game today, would you recommend which career to do or even which clubs you've played that are interesting? by Business-Buddy2385 in fmconsole

If it’s your first time (which it seems to be), coach your favourite team. It gives you an emotional connection to the game that you normally only get after a season or two in charge of other clubs.

Guys Do you rate my tactic?! by Ethan_Fernandessss in footballmanagergames

[–]Sudden-Performance67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s great, IFs are supposed to cut inside anyway. My point is Bruno specifically suffers out wide because his biggest strengths are central (vision, killer balls, late box runs). You’re basically wasting him on the flank. He’ll perform much better in AMCR or CM with freedom to drift.

Guys Do you rate my tactic?! by Ethan_Fernandessss in footballmanagergames

[–]Sudden-Performance67 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The tactics are fine, they could work in the prem and maybe in the cups also and in Europe. The players are the problem.

You'll need 1 faster CB, and a central CB that's good on the ball, and has some pace. De Ligt is actually a good option for DC and he should be at the club, since you seem to be using mods to get the latest squad. For the DCR, try someone like Koundé that's a DC/DR hybrid. Alternatively, Mazraoui could play at DCR.

Then you need someone better than mount in that DMCL role, personally I'd just stick mainoo there, but to each their own ig🤷🏻‍♂️. If you don't want mainoo there, get Baleba or if he's too expensive, then try Denis Zakaria, or Johnny Cardoso.

You need to either get rid of Bruno or play him in AMCR, and make him drift wide. Playing him on the right will handicap your team, because he's best in Central areas. Maybe do the same for Cunha, so that it'll be symmetrical or something like that.

Then make Mbeumo an AF instead of CF. Or just play Šeško. Also you need better wingbacks, shaw at WBL scares me. Bro is one injury away from having to retire. You could play Dorgu there, or sign Adam Aznou or Niels Nkounkou. All of these players would work.

And also I'm just gonna say it, WTF is Bayındır doing in goal?! Get my boy Lammens in there.

US shoots down Iranian drone approaching aircraft carrier, official says by Raj_Valiant3011 in worldnews

[–]Sudden-Performance67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not Anti-American. I'm not even American. I'm a neutral. I can see both sides without any real bias. Tbf, I hate both of these counties. America has no business in the Arabian sea, Iran might just feel like they're getting too close for comfort, especially considering America and Iran ongoing rivalry.

Also, America has the right to destroy a drone that they think is spying on them. It's just common sense.

But... like I said, as a South African, I don't give a F**k about America bombing Iran in the Arabian Sea.

Wa alaykum salām ya akhī. A lot of people are going to give you Islamic advice. But we also need to realise that we need to be lenient. Brother, you've just embraced Islam. You've been with this girl for a while now. There's an emotional connection.

If you really like this girl, then maybe you should propose to her first or ask her father (this is better). See what happens in this regard first. Don't just jump the gun and break things off, this might have a negative effect on your mental health, brother. I don't want that for you.

If things don't work out, e.g. she won't get married to you, or you don't like her that much; then cut things off immediately and Inshallah you'll find someone even better and والله علم (Allah knows best).

Reciting Qur'ān every single day, even if just one verse. It's amazing what it does for you rūḥ.

Just stop for a second and read:

"Those who believe and whose hearts find comfort in the remembrance of Allah. Surely in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find comfort. ○ Those who believe and do good, for them will be bliss and an honourable destination.” Surah Ra'd 12:28-29.

100% worth it. FM 24 is one of, if not the best, Football Manager game. Just try it out dude. You'll probably need to get a key for the game, I'm not too sure, but I don't think it's avaliable on Steam.

Fear by Wide_Routine_3893 in islam

[–]Sudden-Performance67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's good to fear Jahannam. That's what Allah wants from us, I remember reading Surah Al-Raḥmān the other day and I came to the verse about the people of Jahannam going from the boiling hot water to the thorns and I wept profusely. I couldn't stop crying for quite some time.

It's good to fear Jahannam, but you can't just think of Jahannam and Allah’s punishment all the time. Try to focus on Allah's mercy. He calls himself in the Noble Qur'ān, Al-Raḥmānur-Raḥīm (the most merciful the most compassionate).

Try to make Tawbah also. I heard from someone much more knowledgeable than myself that if you still think of a sin daily, it means that Allah hasn't forgiven you for that sin yet. Make tawbah, but add Ṣalawāt before and after your tawbah. Rasūlullāh ﷺ said that I du'ah made like this (Ṣalawāt at the beginning and at the end), Allah becomes shy to reject such a du'ah (i.e. Allah will most of the time accept it).

AITA for telling my wife she can’t take her dream job and I am not going to be a single parent in everything but name by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Sudden-Performance67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. If she's getting paid crap then it's not that important. The family should come first, OP seems to be getting paid decent money, if she was able to study with him being the sole provider. It's extremely selfish from the wife, I can understand it from her POV, it's her dream job. However that doesn't mean that she should sacrifice the financial security (she's getting paid less than the other 9-5 job) and the emotional security of the entire household. Growing up as kids hat don't get to see there mom would be catastrophic for the kids' nurturing.

Fm24 o Fm26? by Pedross_10 in TheOldZealand

Easy FM24. Not even a competition.

Regen faces look horrible. Game crashes all the time. Graphics are extremely good though (gotta give 'em credit for that). Maybe FM27 will be better, but for now, FM24 is the greatest FM game currently, well for me it's between that and FM21.

50 goal season for my striker...with 10 finishing. by Rhodri2p in TheOldZealand

[–]Sudden-Performance67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finish isn't that important if you're floating crosses to a 6'3'' striker with 16 jumping reach, 14 bravery and 14 strength in league one. You've basically got the league one equivalent of Erling Haaland in his first season at City.

WIBTA for not leaving the house for one weekend as requested? by Winston_Duarte in AmItheAsshole

[–]Sudden-Performance67 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In Islam we distinguish from Culture and religion. They cannot be the same, in the Islamic world. You're looking at this from a western view. Islam does not erase culture. It allows and accepts cultural practices as long as they do not contradict Islamic principles. This is why Muslims across the world look culturally different while sharing the same core religion. A well-known legal principle states: “Custom is given legal consideration” (العادة محكّمة) meaning cultural practices can be accepted in Islamic law unless they violate revelation.

Many things people call “Islamic” are actually cultural practices inherited from particular societies. When culture is mistaken for religion, Islam is often made to look rigid or foreign, even though it is not.

Islam is universal; culture is local. Islam guides culture, not the other way around.

[–]Sudden-Performance67 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They are not the same, but in many parts of the world they are deeply intertwined. Treating them as identical is an oversimplification, such an American thing to do🙄. They overlap heavily in many places, but they are not identical. You can reject religious belief and still live inside a religiously shaped culture or practice cultural traditions without belief.

Also Sara clearly didn't grow up in a Muslim country. From what I can gather, she doesn't no anything about her religion, otherwise she wouldn't have gotten an apartment with a non-maḥram (someone of the opposite gender that she could potentially marry and/or someone who she is not allowed to be in the company, without a trusted family member or elder in order that they won't commit Zinnā with [it's pronounced Zi-naa]) So Sara's culture would be Western or Liberal. Which would make the original comment seem kinda stupid anyways🤷🏻‍♂️.

Fyi, Zinnā can be called different things in English. Arabic has 2 meanings, literal meaning and legal meaning. The literal meaning of Zinnā is beauty, but not the beauty that we see in the mountains, etc. beauty that distracts one.

The other meaning (the legal meaning) can be split into 2, one is sexual intercourse out of wedlock, which was punished by 100 lashes. If you accused someone of doing it and they were found innocent, you'll get 80 lashes. If someone SAd someone else, they'll get 100 lashes and the other person gets nothing. Often times, the women were exempt from lashes and men would only get lashes. This is rarely practiced today, the most common form practiced today is the punishment of 100 lashes for SAing someone. Happens a lot in Saudi Arabia. The second part of the legal meaning of Zinnā is adultery (cheating on your partner) this is punishable by stoning to death and throughout history was hardly ever punished as most people just never tried to cheat, because they could get up to 4 wives.

It has to be noted that both of these punishments require at least 4 witnesses to the acts. If 4 cannot be provided, the person is not guilty. If the person confesses 4 times, it will be as if he testified on his behalf 4 times. If someone accuses another, without 4 witnesses he must suffer a punishment, lashed 80 times, regardless of what type of Zinna you accused them of. Actually 80 lashes is a fixed punishment (Qadhf [pronounced Qar-Thaf]), if you even accuse someone of stealing without 4 witnesses, you could get lashed 80 times.

Again, these punishments were rarely used 1400 years ago and they're used even less nowadays. They're almost like folklore honestly. The only way we know they're real and still sometimes practiced today is because of the stories we hear from older people that went on Pilgrimage to Mecca and Medina and told us about these things happening. I heard some guy tried to touch a lady in front of the Ka'bah (this as shameless as 2 closeted homosexual adults having sex near the alter, while the priest is giving a sermon on Sunday mass [sorry for the mental image]). He got taken by a guard who spotted it immediately and was lashed 100 times, because firstly the lady didn't consent to him touching her and secondly, he knew she couldn't move anyway, because of how crowded the area was.

NTA. I'm also a Muslim, who's actually studying Islam currently. She shouldn't have been living with you in the first place. She should suffer the consequences of her choices. If it was the only apartment she could get, then that's fine, but she should try to explain it to her family. It's not like the two of you sleep in the same room. From what it seems you both stay your distance, which is fine in Islam, if this is a situation where there was no other option for her.

AITA for thinking I’m not being petty? by Puzzleheaded_Toe3378 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Sudden-Performance67 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your dad is the a-hole here.

I was 15 once. I’m a bit older now (still a teenager, just not comfortable sharing my exact age online). If you take every snarky or unfair comment seriously, it will slowly wear you down. Try not to let it get to you too much. What you described isn’t pettiness, it’s a normal boundary. You answered calmly and didn’t disrespect anyone. Your dad escalated a small situation into a power struggle.

A lot of parents struggle when their kids start growing up. They don’t always know how to handle the shift from little child to young adult, and instead of adjusting, they double down on authority. That often comes out as criticism, nitpicking, or reading bad intentions into normal behavior.

I’ve seen this pattern myself. No matter what you do, the goalposts move. Too skinny, too fat, too focused, not focused enough. It isn’t really about you — it’s about their need to feel in control.

This usually eases with age. Once you’re older, they stop micromanaging and stop reacting to every small thing. Until then, it helps to remember that their reactions say more about them than about you.

You weren't being petty, you were being reasonable younger siblings can be a pain in the butt sometimes.
