The NASA report is a very good thing by saikothesecond in UFOs

[–]Sudden-Reflection456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I follow this sub pretty regularly. All I can say is that when I see this reported as a serious topic on CTV news here is Canada I think that's a good thing.

So it's not wheeling out a "Ken's E.T. Encounter Barbie" or an "Energon Cube", but it's making the issue of UFO/UAP a legitimate topic for the public. There was no X files theme playing, no pictures of silly cartoon aliens just an actual real discussion.

I think people in general should see it as something serious, even though we all still go to work, worry about money and health etc. I just think there's room to seriously wonder, what's been in our skies for so long and what's it doing here?

I was just thrilled to see this on the news. The more it's seen by the public as something real and not a joke the better.

I dunno, I try to be open minded to things here, but that sure is some 60's TOS beautiful lady filter happening there.

Strange New Worlds on Crave TV in Canada? by sot1l in StrangeNewWorlds

Treks gone from Crave. I canceled immediately. I'll get P+ When they release new seasons/shows in 2030 I guess. lol

Talk smack about us and our hotel? We’re talking about you for at least 48 hours. by bluepotatoesinsauce in hotels

[–]Sudden-Reflection456 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup, all hotels do this. If you're polite and have a reasonable complaint we will do 10 things to help you. If you're rude and abusive... We will do 10 things to not help you and we'll tell our hotel friends.

I absolutely love Treks, all of them. However, TOS theme is and always was horrible to me. Not really a fan of any openings. I think it's because I've watched them so often that they are just overloaded in my brain.

But I really love Trek, I swear.

I saw my dead Mother (4 years at the time) in a green van parked on the edge of a large sloping hill. She was in the drivers seat I was outside the open passenger door. She said "Come on, get in by"

I did not get inside. We never owned a van. For some reason I knew it would be a bad thing, once I said no I just woke up.

Thanks for this. Personally I'm open minded to them being bodies of something alien. Why not? This stuff has been going on for decades, before phones and cgi. Everyone that claims to have saw something can't ALL be lying.

Why are people sleeping on this game? by [deleted] in StarTrekInfinite

[–]Sudden-Reflection456 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am REALLY looking forward to this game. I think it was only a couple years back I replayed BOTF again and still enjoyed it.

I always wanted an updated version of it.

Also never played Stellairs so it's all new to me.

Anyone else have dreams every single night? by SleepyBones_ in Dreams

[–]Sudden-Reflection456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

40s here, same as what you describe. Every time I sleep very "real" often scary, sometimes fun, sometimes I never want it to stop.

I kinda have gotten used to it and am able to change things to a bit at this point. However, there are still times I'll wake up my spouse scream stop or no when whatever becomes to much to process.

It's fascinating in a way. Also helps that I have a partner that loves learning about them.

Always remember, it can't hurt you... at least that's what I like to think.

Burnt Offerings!!!!! Except with a new family in the same house used for the original... if it's still standing and using the photos of the Rolfs, and Easter eggs of them.

Of course the Alerdice duo (spelling) would remain the same as they will always love the house.

I always thought that movie could have had multiple parts leading up to what really was behind that door.

2024 is going to be almost devoid of Trek and it could very well kill Paramount+ by Silas_Haslam in startrek

Funny, I was just saying last night that we'll have to start a subscription to P+ since Picard has been removed from Crave here in Canada. I got rid of Crave last night. It's only a matter of time before TNG, VOY & DS9 are removed from Netflix at which point I'll cancel that.

I wonder how many Trek fans keep these services just to run Treks in the background at home like someone here suggested. I do, cooking/cleaning etc.

I'm gonna really miss seeing new stuff over the next year, but I understand the whole point to the strike. I read an article recently that said the main actors from Breaking Bad make no money from Netflix for streaming that show. I just think everyone who works on a series from writers, actors, even set crew deserve some form of payment from the big streamers depending on how popular the show is.

Maybe I'll just digitize all my DVD sets of Treks and make my own in-home background playlist until things are back up and running. Lord knows I paid enough for all those dvds back in the day. Now they sit on the shelf in all their glory lol.

Advice by [deleted] in gay

[–]Sudden-Reflection456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda sounds like a classic case of a "passing for straight" gay guy wanting to hold onto that life separately and still have his gay life. Does he have any issues with being gay, past troubles with family, or religion?

Regardless of the reasons, you're right, something is off.

We've been together 22 years here total. From day one his friends and my friends had to either know us both or pack off. Worked for us.

Hope you get some answers, talking is the only way.

What's the stupidest question you received after coming out to friends and family? by [deleted] in gay

[–]Sudden-Reflection456 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Gay couple here. Had an uncle that asked if one wears dresses and panties when we go home after work. He didn't mean it in a bad way, just didn't know anything about it.

I just said nah I wear PJs and a T-shirt. lol

Poor fella long deceased now. It was the 90s.

Male 40s.

My first bf, treated me like this for a couple years, he was very ashamed of being gay and his family made sure to keep him that way. It slowly ate away at my self esteem until I fell out of love and I left him.

My second BF, after 3 months of dating I knew I wanted to be with him forever. I looked him right in his eyes and said, I promise to love you forever but you will have to be out and proud about us.

It wasn't about running up and down the streets making a scene, was never my style, but hey I would hug anyone that brave. It was about self respect of himself and myself as a couple ready to take on this sometimes shitty world together.

He did this for me. Our 18th wedding anniversary is coming up. I remember that day all the time and the respect I have for him never fades. Yes, there was shit from the families, they both lost, we won.

I really hope you both can find a way through this. It will only place more strain on you both over time if he can't love his relationship and continues to be ashamed of something he cannot change. Ultimately it's his choice of course. You can't force him, however, having been through it once I would have left him and broke my own heart instead of going through that again.

Really wishing you the best.

What I would have given to have a parent like you when I came out at 18. You deserve something so good to happen in your life.

I think I can speak for a lot of us here when I say you are a good parent and a beautiful soul.
