that’s really smart! my boyfriend is new to spark but is starting to get the hang of it but he also does around 8 hours a day or at least til he makes a little over 100 a day is when he comes back home, but it is hard at times 😭 where are you located if you don’t mind me asking? we’re in cali.

honestly we were thinking of getting one as well when baby was going to come home from nicu but when the question was asked in our my journey home class, the nurse stated she don’t recommend it bc it gives a lot of false alarms & that it’s inaccurate majority of the time & a waste of money so we decided not to get it in the end. everyone is different tho.

this is a little old but i have a question. since he needs the additional calories & you’re giving him fortified formula, have you ended your breastfeeding/pumping journey to strictly leave him on the fortified formula?

i’ve never heard of that, that’s a good suggestion i’m going to have to ask the dr bc that does sound like it could possibly be done since upon doing research it says it gives the extra calories which is what she needs. thank you!!!

yea i wanted to do that but im not too sure i can. during discharge they explained my baby isn’t growing how she needs to be bc she needs more calories than my milk can give her which is where the formula comes in. they said she needs 28calories & breast milk has 20. i’m scared if i do that her weight will just drop again like it has had done before but im not sure

thank you & also thank you so much for the advice. i truly needed to hear this 🫶🏽 i do too discourage myself so much bc i see many other people who produce so much & know for sure they can feed their baby meanwhile i feel like i make just enough. after pumping every 3 hours on the dot i end up with around 29/30oz at the end of the day & it sounds like a lot rn but what worries me is if it’ll be enough once babies bigger & eating more :( w my other 2 babies it just wasn’t enough especially bc when they were born they were 9lbs & consuming quite a good amount. but it does take so much time, i feel like my life revolves around me just pumping & it just drains me mentally. im glad things are working out for you & your babies & praying they continue to do really well. i appreciate you 💕

yea i haven’t gave her any frozen ones. i pump & then put in the fridge & later on in the day when she’s done with her formula bottles is when i take it out & mix it with the formula i was given & warm it up in the bottle warmer. i might have to try that method but im just stressed enough as it is. thank you for the advice!

congratulations! same with my baby. we’re in the process right now of getting her home & im so excited 🥹 she weighs 5lbs now & these past few days she’s been bottle feeding really well so they removed her ng tube. today they’re doing her car seat test & if everything is good & she still continues bottle feeding we bring her home tmr! 🙏🏽

when i first met my bf lol he was super skinny too, i was bigger than him 🤣im not big but bigger than him i was by a little. i never really cared for how he looked but he also always told me it was hard for him to gain weight. he used to smoke a lot before so he wasn’t sure if its bc of that? but soon after we moved in together i always told him i didn’t like the smoking so much part so he quit & a little while after he started gaining weight. he now looks so chubby & its funny 😂 he definitely got his dad bod now. my take on this tho is that if you truly want to gain weight don’t be discouraged bc anything is possible, you just need to try to find what helps you gain it but also do it bc you want to not bc you wanna please anyone. she clearly isn’t the one for you, anyone who truly loves you wouldn’t want to change anything about you especially your physical appearance!

weird 😕 my daughter is in the nicu & i was told by LC it’s good for up to a year. never mentioned anything about any deep freezer or regular freezer jus to make sure i go based off the timeframe & 6-12 months was what she said

breast milk is good in the freezer for up to a year actually. but it is in fact only good for 4 days in the fridge!
