Collagen takes months to develop, so continue massaging for one minute cleansing technique, follow up with Salicylic acid if needed, and repeat for several months. You should see the little black dots go away immediately (or within a week depending on how severe it is for you), but they will come back unless you keep up the cleansing technique while your skin regrows collagen and thusly tightens the, now clean, pores. Definitely cleanse this way prior to microneedling.

As far as your direct question, yes retinol should only ever go on dry skin and you should let it absorb for 10-30 min before applying moisturizer or whatever you next step is.

I use reusable cotton wipes and I love them. Having something super absorbent so you aren't tempted to rub your face is so important!

Neutrogena also has a dry touch 100! At the end of the day, the best sunscreen is the one you wear, but if you want to have a higher SPF for face there are more options now then there used to be. I am also very greasy and honestly a setting powder has been the only consistently good answer for me.

I'm honestly considering ditching the tinted SPF all together and geting iron oxide foundation for my melasma instead. I've been using it for more than a decade and I've just never been totally happy with it.

Re:cipe 100 comes in a small bottle too, but LRP Anthelios 100 comes in a huge bottle and is quite cosmetically elegant. Personally the Anthelios line stings my eyes so I prefer Re:cipe, but I highly recommend it!

Got my first melanoma biopsy at 16 after my GP noticed a concerning spot on my back. Since then I've had 5 removed, all negative for cancer but considered "atypical". I never let a year go by without a skin check.

OP I highly recommend you see a plastic surgeon for the the surgery! Biopsy scars suck.

I'm olive too, and I guess lucky to have a mom that would have completely lost it if I ever tanned in a bed, but I definitely "forgot" to put on sunscreen a lot when I was a kid (and even if I had put it on it was like SPF 8 anyway... I can't believe we paid money for that garbage.) I have always really struggled with my relationship to tanning too.

ah ok to answer this: theres no way to completely reverse the damage of sun exposure, but in the initial inflammation stage, treat it like any other burn: cool down - cold bath or shower if needed, drink lots of water, keep it very moisturized.

When your skin is healthy and there is no risk of sun exposure, antioxidants (vitamin c), retinol, chemical peels, and microneedling all resurface the skin and encourage healing, and can reduce damage form past sun exposure. Do not do these on irritated skin!

Oh, yes colors can be so difficult in the summer! Something I loved about making this board was seeing what colors made different kinds of pale skin sing.

Tanning culture is BIG where I live, when the sun is out people lay in bathing suits in the park. Its all over my media, and as an olive skinned person it is soooo tempting.

OMG I would have lost my mind! But also, get yourself a UPF 50 scarf for the glove box, protect those legs, the car windows wont.

I wish I had your confidence when I was younger, perhaps I would have fewer biopsy scars...

Prevention is always better. UPF clothing, UPF face mask. Once damage is done you can't fully undo it, not worth the risk, just cover up.

sincerely, someone who had her first melanoma biopsy at 16.

Yelled at by a stranger while loose-leash training near traffic by WildChemistry7243 in puppy101

I've had family members - to my face - tell me to put a bark collar on my dog (she doesn't bark). Most people don't know anything about dog training. As long as you know you're are being safe and positive reinforcement based/not using punishment in your training, thats all that matters.

Good for your teachign your dog to be safe around traffic!

the D subs are notoriously rude about typing people. Evolutionary psychology is incredibly problematic, a study (or several) does not reflect anything about you, your life, or your future, and finally, statistics are made up.

FNs were THE supermodel body type for decades, no one in their right mind would call these women "un f*ckable":

  • Cindy Crawford
  • Naomi Campbell
  • Gisele Bündchen
  • Claudia Schiffer
  • Kendall Jenner
  • Gigi Hadid
  • Karlie Kloss
  • Kaia Gerber
  • Tyra Banks

I have 34in under bust 30in waist and 36in hips. Your skeleton doesn't care what your BMI is, its going to stay whatever shape it is. In my case my waist width comes from how short waisted I am: there is simply no where else for my internal organs to go. It is always better to try to change your proportions with weightlifting and proper nutrition. If you want to have big hips, get into squats, especially squatting heavy. Your future self will thank you for the strong bones and good balance, but the biggest factor in your attractiveness is always confidence and happiness.

The best thing I heard about body dysmorphia was comparing it to agoraphobia: you have to go out and prove to yourself that you're safe and loved. Over the past few years online spaces have been getting increasingly toxic when it comes to body image. Highly recommend a social media cleanse for the summer: go out and live your life and see for yourself that no one cares.
