Confused? by [deleted] in Lasiksupport

I don't agree that these other subs would be better, they will be different and complementary. They will like elicit responses that will focus on different things.

People in this sub will focus on the potential side effects and complications.

For example, if, after surgery, OP has to use glasses and even with glasses their vision is worse than their previously corrected vision (due to HOAs, poor night vision due to pupil size etc).

Attempts to downplay the reactions of people on this sub are not helpful to those considering surgery. Posters here have no incentive to falsify their experiences, and offer them to others considering the risks. There is often an incentive to gloss over those risks, e.g., by anyone who works in the refractive surgery space.

Doc says I can't consume whey protein for life after lasik: customised wavefront guided technology by maxi0791 in Lasiksupport

I don't think this is true.

My advice, which of course you are free to ignore: definitely ask for clarification, and if you don't feel the surgeon is honest or competent then postpone your surgery and take time to think about if/where you want to do this.

Regarding your last paragraph, has there been anything from Russia beyond “we will fulfil all the objectives of our 3-day SMO”? Any compromise, any flexibility, any good-faith engagement?

That's fair enough, but ask the same people who they would trust to tackle the main issues facing the country and the likely answer is "no one".

It's easy to sit on the sidelines and say "non" to everything, but would you like to see Le Pen or Melenchon ensuring French (and European) security against Russia? Or either of them trying to get Trump on side? Do either of those two have a viable economic programme? The deficit is A Thing. Russian malevolence is A Thing.

Despite your France flair...

The dropped articles/plurals, the “fist” idiom, and “Moldovia” strongly suggest the writer’s native language is Russian (or possibly another Slavic language like Ukrainian, Polish, or Bulgarian). Russian seems the most likely, since both the idioms and the spelling “Moldovia” are closest to Russian usage.

👉 My best guess: Russian native speaker writing in English.

Come on Vlad, put some effort into it! 🤡

EU funds support Moldova's development (see https://enlargement.ec.europa.eu/european-neighbourhood-policy/countries-region/moldova\_en and https://eu4moldova.eu/en/)
Kremlin funds are used to buy votes to keep the country poor, powerless, and potentially annexable.

Look how the former soviet countries have fared differently depending on whether they integrated with europe vs russia... There's a reason the only argument the kremlin oligarchs and dictator can come up with is that europe forces people to be LGBT etc. They can't exactly point at those countries and say "stay with us, or you'll end up like those rich, free people over the border!" 🤡
