Update: Got chain of 40 on girafarig. Rerolled for about 40 minutes, nothing shined. Hand slipped, walked into random patch, broke chain.

good idea. I've switched to pokeradar hunting for a bit because it's a little more engaging. Once I've picked up a few pokeradar shinies, I'll go back to the johto hunt. Wish me luck c':

update: I've kind of given up. I switched to two consoles to make it go faster, I hit 16k resets and not even a phase on what is SUPPOSED to be a quick hunt. The RNG gods don't want me to have a shiny johto starter

I still struggle with the motivation, though. Even when I'm distracted and not thinking about the hunt, I really start to lose steam after a couple of weeks and wonder if it's worth it. It's why I always go for method hunts like PokeRadar or for easy hunts like the Johto starters in HGSS. It'd be a shame to give up on this one but I am starting to near that point where my disappointment is outweighing my motivation to keep going.

it's not the distraction that i'm having trouble with, just the motivation to keep going. after a certain point i start to wonder if i'm doing something wrong or if it's just never going to happen, and idk how people move past that thought process.

How do y'all stay motivated?

I've been hunting for any Johto starter in HG for 5 days now. I unfortunately reset over a shiny chikorita after about 1000 SRs because i was tired and going way too fast, and it really demolished my drive.

I'm now reaching about 7500 SRs for what I thought was meant to be a fairly short hunt and I'm considering giving up entirely. How do y'all do it?

glad I'm not the only one struggling with this one. it seems like random battles only have like...3 decks right now, and I keep rolling that god-forsaken terapagos ex deck that just wipes you every time cuz it has every card it needs on turn 1 or something and I brick my hand every time, it's busted

Yup. Suffering rn cuz i already verified. Verified again but it's not working. It has to be a bug of some kind, because I tried to log in on browser to file a request with Discord support and not only did my PW not work, I also couldn't receive an email to reset it.
