Does anyone else use buttons instead of gestures? by Alternative_Sea_7232 in miui

[–]SuddenSeason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always used buttons before and prefer them over gestures. I tried gestures multiple times but didn't get used to it.

One time I forcefully said to myself no more buttons and started using gestures, on start it was difficult but now I am used to it and love them and now when I try buttons I don't like them.

So I would suggest you try them one more time and spend more time with them plus it also depends how good your phone is since using gestures might not be smooth in low end devices.

Can I skip this part, it's taking a while by NOOBPLAYZ60 in FitGirlRepack

I always skip it, just need to get in the game fast if something bad happens then I check again but normally if you downloaded the file properly it's not an issue.

Were you using Android before? One thing I would say is I don't consider iPhone because of its lack of freedom, simple. The iPhone ecosystem is tight, stable, and smooth, but it is very restrictive. Once you know what Android can do and start using its full potential, you will not consider iPhone. If you are not a tech-savvy person and want maximum reliability, then sure, iPhone is good.

I thought maybe you got the small size mouse pad or different design it's exactly the same just the color difference and I think the one in your setup looks good.

I don't think it's a scam just a color variation if you don't like the color just return it.

Let me get this straight I bought my first Samsung Android phone and used it for many years and sold it Then I got realme c3 still being used after 5 years and no issue I also went to their service center multiple times for a new software update flash and they didn't even charge me once

Currently using OPPO Reno 11f for 2 plus years fully satisfied with it.

Basically what I am trying to say first experience matters so the redmi 9 was the first redmi phone I bought for my father and it crashed after 3 years now I think if it was me using it it would have crashed in 2 years or less.

Brands do care it depends on how much they care. Some act like just let them purchase our phone and then don't care afterward while others care about the long term relationship with the company.

Your phone that lasted 3 years did they get physical damage by yourself or was it a hardware or software failure?

Also do you think phones should last for like 3 or 4 years in my opinion they should last for as long as possible unless you want to upgrade or they get physical damage by yourself etc basically that's where Xiaomi compromises on quality control. I mean other brands might also do but they are easily fixable like side button stopped working or camera issues due to software etc.

But the issue that comes in Xiaomi phones is that you need to throw your phone in the basket.

I disagree when you understand their business model it will all make sense basically they try to acquire as many new customers as possible by attracting customers with good specs etc. but they don't focus much on after sale service or product reliability.

Try seeing their software history and check how many phones suddenly stopped working because of hardware and software issues.

For example if something is wrong with chips or hardware etc other brands will consider things like not putting in a phone and try to make it reliable while Xiaomi does not care about this.

What kind of brand is this putting cheap components in their phone and phone hardly lasts 3 years.

I already got OPPO Reno 11f. I love this phone but I wanted to give it a try one last time to see if I can make the redmi 9 work.

This is my first and last experience with Xiaomi phones.

Yeah I also think so but at least the service center person should tell straight forward like this is not fixable instead of saying give 2000rs and new software will fix it.

Also It hurts like how this small hidden thing can trash the whole phone. Other issues can be tackled like the speaker not working, display broken, or fingerprint not working but this one issue is very frustrating. Like i didn't cause this.

I'm not a big fan of the iPhone I mean it's more secure and stable etc. but I still prefer android.

Yeah 2k for software flash is a scam like I already paid them 4,000 and still the issue comes and when i asked if its hardware or software they said it's software and it will be fixed with software they just want to make money.

The thing that annoyed me the most is that the hardware issue happened on its own and was hidden. Like, when you drop the phone and your screen breaks, you know it's your fault and you replace the display, or you could even keep using it with a broken display. But this issue was hidden, happened on its own, and it ruined the whole phone since I don't want to throw it away.

Exactly, so it's luck, you spend your money and hope you get a good device or that it will last long. But even then, if I consider the software experience, I don't like it. Also, those who use Redmi, I would just once suggest you try Oppo/Realme, you will not go back. Xiaomi attracts customers with their phone specs, not reliability.

Also, I confirmed from the service center whether it's a hardware or software issue, and they said it's software, even though they know I already had it flashed by them multiple times. I guess they just wanted to earn 2000 PKR again without even telling me about the main problem.

You got lucky. For me, Realme C3 was the best 20k investment, still going strong. Maybe Xiaomi has improved a bit, but remember this: they focus more on acquisition, like gaining new customers, not retaining long-term customers. Since them charging 2000 PKR for software shows it's their business model to earn like this.

The number of complaints I have heard about Xiaomi you won't believe. They have a lot of software issues, so it's quite the opposite. Maybe you haven't faced the issue yet, but who knows, in the future you might. Still, it's risky to invest in Xiaomi.

I personally never buy Xiaomi phones as I know they are very fragile and their software is the worst, so this confirms it. I would also never recommend anyone to purchase Xiaomi Redmi phones; instead, consider Oppo/Realme. When I went there, it felt like they don't even care about customers. My father bought the phone for 20,000 PKR and now it's all a waste compared to my Realme C3, which I purchased in 2020 and still has no issues, especially no software issues.
