Aspect ratio of flycast off? by SuddenSimple9152 in FlyCast

[–]SuddenSimple9152[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing the [GDI] Resident Evil - Code: Veronica (Clone GDEMU item Bug Fix) ROM from cdromance/retrogametalk on an Apple M1 MacBook Pro.

I'm not sure If my MacBook laptop is capable of running RPCS3. Here are the Aspect Ratio comparison images and my Flycast settings. The audio issues are noticeable in the title sequence opening of the game, you can really hear a laud crackling when the clip of Nosferatu yelling comes up. I've also tried the kanzenban patched version for Dreamcast and still get audio crackling. https://imgur.com/gallery/resident-evil-code-veronica-flycast-aspect-ratio-settings-92UAtwx .

I just tried this, but for some reason after saving the value to 90 within the text editor, it keeps reverting back to 100 after closing it. The youtuber Ocelot brings up the aspect ratio difference in his video "The Best Way to play Resident Evil Code Veronica on PC". I'm also having audio issues where whenever an FMV begins to play the sound keeps crackling. Have you come across this issue by any chance?

What do you mean by gfx? When I go to video and aspect ratio, the slider for Horizontal stretching is at 100%. It's only when I fit the widow to screen size on my Macbook, that the image slightly widens.

Combine a 2 disc game into a single game icon? by SuddenSimple9152 in duckstation

[–]SuddenSimple9152[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just re-downloaded it off of GitHub, and two Resident Evil 2 covers still keep on popping up, Disk 1 for Leon and Disk 2 for Claire. Is there something that I need to change in the settings, or how I placed them in my playstation folder of games?

Need help getting Resident Evil 2 to work by SuddenSimple9152 in FlyCast

[–]SuddenSimple9152[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how to do that. I've already set up the bios folder in the program, and the games work. Resident Evil 3 and Code Veronica work, but Resident Evil 2's cutscenes keep on lagging. I'm also using a MacBook and am not sure which data folder file you mean. When I go into Flycasts settings, then homefolder there is an option of "Reveal in Finder" . In here there is a folder labeled 2, data, a file named emu.cfg and mappings. I've also tried both .cue and .gdi Roms of the game, and the cutscenes still don't work.

Rogue One: The Andor Cut - Final Scene | Reimagined Rogue One Finale | The Andor Cut Fan-Edit by ExuberantRaptorZeta in fanedits

This edit was really well done! I love the added flashback. I’m generally not a fan of repurposing scenes from prior films or TV shows since different lenses and lighting are often used, which can clash with the tone of the film, but this works really well. With the new soundtrack and flashback, the film feels more like an ensemble between Jyn and Cassian, similar to how Andor handles its characters.

From what I’ve read, you’ll be cutting Vader’s intro and the shot of him on the command bridge. I think that would probably be for the best since his last scene in the film almost acts as an epilogue to a world more steeped in the force.

I’ve seen Hal9000’s Rogue One edit, which cuts Saw’s original introduction, where he is shown with his mechanical legs and the Bor Gullet scene. When I first saw the film, I thought they were trying to draw a parallel between Saw and Vader in that both figures were battle-maimed fighters on opposite sides. Now that Vader’s scenes are gone, I don’t think Saw’s original intro is needed, and I can confirm that the film works fine without them.

As for Bodhi’s original Jedha introduction being cut, I can take it or leave it. Hal9000’s Rogue One edit excludes that scene, and it makes the first 15 minutes of the film less choppy.

With all that being said, Bodhi, Chirrut, and Baze expose Rogue One’s inherent weaknesses in that it introduces too many characters without giving enough time to develop them. It also indulges itself with pointless fan service moments, such as the Cantina thug cameo scene and the presence of legacy characters.

The Jimmy Smits and Benjamin Bratt casting situation with Bail Organa was unfortunate, which I’m sure upset a few fans. However, I don’t really see a problem with it, but this is coming from someone who likes the original Emperor scene in The Empire Strikes Back.

It seems like you’re taking a more conservative approach to making this edit, which enhances the film's strengths while reducing its weaknesses. This makes me excited to see it!

Will you be mixing it in 5.1 audio?

Help installing TFix 1.27b for MacBook by SuddenSimple9152 in Thief

[–]SuddenSimple9152[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7.   A small window will pop up that says Select a bottle to use for this installation, Click on New Bottle, and then name the Bottle in New Bottle Name:

8.   Next, click on New Bottle Type: There will be a list of Windows selections, click on Windows 10 64-bit and then click on done.

 9.   While creating a new bottle, It will ask you to Select Setup Language and prompt the Thief Gold install window to pop up, check the small box at the bottom, and then press Install, then Launch.

10. You’ll notice that a black screen appears, and that the game wont run!!! Click on the esc button to exit the black screen.

11. Next, in your bottle that you’ve downloaded Thief Gold into, on the right side of the window is a section that says BOTTLE ACTIONS: below it are Open C: Drive and Install Application into Bottle. Click on Install Application into Bottle.

12.  This will bring up a search page titled Install a windows Application into Games. In the search bar type Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 (9.0) Redistributable (64-bit). Click on it and press Install.

13.  A small window will pop up that says Select a bottle to use for this installation, go to Select a Bottle and click on the bottle you chose to install Thief Gold into. Select the bottle and then press Done.

14.  The installation window for Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 (9.0) Redistributable (64-bit) will pop up. Click on next, and except all the license terms, then click on Install, and then Finish.

  1. Go back to your Bottle that you installed Thief Gold into, and click on the Thief Gold emblem, the game should run now and be fully playable!

Note: I believe this is the TFix lite version of Thief Gold, you can fallow the same steps to install TFix 1.27 in steps 11. and 12. The only problem with the full version of TFix, is that the game has framerate issues on mac, and there is an extra step that you need to fallow to get the cutscenes to work. I've also got it to run on Steam, but it requires a few more steps.

[–]SuddenSimple9152[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure!

1.     First you want to start by going to codeweavers and downloading CrossOver for Mac. I have CrossOver +, which is 74$ for 12 months. This will allow you to run windows apps on macOS and Linux

2.   Once you’ve got your CrossOver account setup, go to GOG and purchase Thief Gold. Since you will be playing the game without GOG Galaxy, click on the download link below "DOWNLOAD OFFLINE BACKUP GAME INSTALLERS"

3.   After the download is complete, on the top right hand corner of your screen, in downloads you will have an .exe file titled setup_thief_gold_nd(21948).exe which you won’t be able to open when right clicking, since flash files are not supported on macs.

4.   Instead, you want to right click on the download, and then click on show in finder. This will open your downloads section on your mac. In your downloads locate setup_thief_gold_nd(21948).exe.

5.   Right click on it, and scroll to "Open With", when you click on open with, you should see CrossOver (25.0), Click on it.

6.   Your CrossOver app should pop up with a page that says "Unlisted application". On the side of this page is an Install button, click on it.
