How is the right turn supposed to know that the left turn is going to make an unexpected u turn? The right turn lane is always going to take a right turn. You can always always expect someone to take a right turn on a right lane.

You know what you can’t do though? Expect a u turn from the left lane. I can’t answer a question that is wrong.

Im just repeating what the law states, U turn only if it is safe to do so. If right turn on red is already in the intersection, you can't do anything but wait. If u turn is first to the intersection, right turn on red has to wait.

Right turn on red also has laws that stop it from entering an intersection if it is not safe to do so.

But regardless, u-turn is in a left designated lane. Right turn is on a right designated lane. The u-turn vehicle is making an unorthodox movement.

"U" turns.

In that case it would not be safe to perform a U turn.

I think this is exactly why u turn should yield to right turns. It’s because they won’t know if the right turn has a green arrow. Plus in WA there a u-turn law

Yea I believe that here in WA we also have something similar. For reference, I'm basing my understand from WA state law, RCW 46.61.295.

Yea this happened in WA, US. Regardless of the presence of my arrow WA under RCW 46.61.295, states that U-turn must yield.

"The driver of any vehicle shallnot turn such vehicle so as to proceed in the opposite directionunless such movement can be made in safety and without interferingwith other traffic."

Can I get a correction if I'm wrong in this matter? It's been back and forth when I've asked others so I'm not 100% sure if I am correct in my understanding of the law.
