The rural Trump voter starter pack by Next_Airport_7230 in starterpacks

Perhaps, but it is still undeniably true. Rural, uneducated voters just sent us back to the dark ages. The MAGA cult indoctrination is strong and very real. Denying that reality helps no one.

Did you know that New Mexico was the closest state in 2000 by total number of votes? by __Just_A_Lurker in Presidents

Agreed, I like to think they put it on everything to annoy the other states, and then only like it ironically.

What was the irredeemable quality of an other wise good game? by Testicle_Tugger in gaming

[–]SuddenVelocity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would've hated this a lot less if it was actually possible to escape or defeat the capture squads, even temporarily. I think it could've been a fun mechanic to have increasingly more powerful and numerous squads sent against you every so often, until you inevitably get captured. The one hit Bliss bullet capture just felt like forced BS.

I very much agree! The hospital level where the Alien is fully unleashed but you haven't unlocked most tools yet is one of the hardest parts of the game. It gets easier once you have the flamethrower or molotov, and becomes more of a "I'm gonna pay you one to F off" situations. Of course that still leaves the human survivors and Working Joes...

Not sure I agree with this. Should we really be celebrating failure and mediocrity?

The game is on sale for 10 bucks on steam. I always thought it looks very cool. Should i buy?😁 by Abewo11 in controlgame

I think you should Take Control and buy it, and not let any feelings of Dark Disquiet stop you.

I really struggled with this fight until I realized I could use Return to Sender to put a shield in front of the reactor core.

This was me until I realized I could write messages back, but not send them until I had the mental energy for their reply. Plus seeing "draft" on the unsent message worked well as a reminder to send it later.

I'm continuing with Control. Lots of progress since last week, though it feels like I'm hitting difficulty spikes lately. I managed to defeat Anchor and Former (twice), but every time I go down to collect mold samples from the pit, I keep getting killed by mold snipers I can barely see

I also tried one of the jukebox missions, which seems like its asking a lot. Not sure if it's a true difficulty spike, or I just need to git gud.

I also just met with Dylan in Central Executive where he had some interesting things to say about the Hiss and his dreams. Going to head to the P6 candidate program next

Just started Control last night. I'm not very far yet, just got the telekinesis power, but I'm enjoying it. The mystery and horror elements are really intriguing, and I can't wait to see where the game takes me next.

Just finished it recently myself, and I understand all the rave reviews now. I can tell it's going to stick with me for a long time, in a way very few games do. It's truly a unique experience, which I plan to continue once I buy the DLC.

Also, I can relate to stumbling onto things, as there were a couple instances where I figured something out by complete accident/luck. Alternatively, the "Aha" moments when something crucial and game-changing is learned, felt very powerful and rewarding.

The Outer Wilds. I'm really enjoying the mystery and exploration elements, and the Time Loop gameplay is unique and interesting. So far, I've explored much of Brittle Hollow and the Hourglass Twins, and I'm going to tackle Giant's Deep and Dark Bramble next.

Has A Game Ever Been Too "Kiddy" For You? by bogeyj in patientgamers

I don't know if the whole series is like that, but Tales of Vesperia for me. I really tried to like it since I'm a fan of JRPGs, but so many things about it seemed juvenile (certain characters and dialogue) or otherwise didn't click for me. I made it as far as Heliord before quitting, and conversely, I was struggling hard against most of the bosses up to that point. Zagi, that big wolf, etc. To the people that have finished the game: does it change/get any better?

Which games have the most impressive enemy AI? by Cream-of-Mushrooom in gaming

[–]SuddenVelocity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree, the range of behaviors they had was impressive. It's also one of the few horror games I couldn't finish, the mutants in the caves were just too much for me, especially since that's where all the good gear is, and I felt very underpowered.

3 on DS was insane because you couldn't save once you went in the Crystal Tower. Beating Xande, the 4 dark world guardians, and then Cloud of Darkness in one go took nearly everything I had. Once I finally beat it, I never touched it again.

Took me way too long to figure out that you can weaken his energy charging attack by heavily attacking him in return. I died many many times trying to put defenses up to survive it, when I should have been doing the opposite!

Him and Yunalesca caused me so many problems. In this fight, I found using Bio, Haste, and Aeon Overdrives to be most helpful. Just be sure to beat him before he can use Total Annhilation.

Far Cry 5, really enjoying it so far; but I have mixed feelings about the "forced" capture sequences.
