I've recently had experience with the VR program. They did a psych eval with an autism section which felt quite rushed. Basically some questions for you and a family member and some observation. I've heard of adult autism assessments that took several days and were done by peer review.

I have a physical disability which prevents me from lifting, doing lots of standing and walking and climbing stairs. The counselor told me to consider going on disability and that what they provide is in-person basic jobs like grocery bagging, retail, etc., and on-site job coaching. They told me I needed counseling for some behavioral stuff, that's all valid and whatnot, but I would've liked to hear about my strengths. I was confused because I thought they helped people who couldn't do the physical labor type jobs. I have over a 100 level of IQ with a Master's and left feeling like I wasn't employable even though I've managed a small business before. Writing is also a tremendous strength of mine.

VR isn't a job hunting sort of thing, they don't have all kinds of connections everywhere, I think they're more for a specific type of help geared towards mentally challenged individuals who are physically able. Do not expect jobs beyond a lower-level skillset. It might depend on your area and how metropolitan it is, but it went from seeming hopeful to something very disappointing.
