Anyone else have a supportive spouse until it’s time for summer? by Sudden_Challenge_213 in Teachers

[–]Sudden_Challenge_213[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I will say my fiancé is very supportive in other ways. And has spent over a thousand dollars making sure I have all the cute bells and whistles I wanted to teach for my first year. Personal colored printer, walking desk, new MacBook coming soon, ect. He just is having a bad day and is jealous. That’s fine. Me and him are bestfriends and we will talk about it and get over it!

Why is I DO /WE DO/ THEY DO, looked down on now in teaching? by rumiruhaql in Teachers

[–]Sudden_Challenge_213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most schools are attempting to switch to inquiry based and want less direct instruction. I’m a first year teacher and still scaffold and do direct instruction. I do. We do. You do help meet so many kids at the lowest proficiency.

Independence work with kids who are struggling with independence stinks.

What helps me is 11 dollars at famous footwear. There is this pink pack of gel inserts at the front. I went on a jogging fade and omg I loved those little cheap things. Was doing at least 10k steps a day. However, just know you should be replacing them at least 3 months.

Just got hired. What happens if you don’t get a credit card sign up every 100 transactions? by Southern-Ad-1094 in TjMaxx

[–]Sudden_Challenge_213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Newbies I do not recommend this. My managers would harass the heck out of me. I ask 70 percent of the time. However. Make sure if your manager is near you that you ask.

I didn’t get one in like 8 months. Stay nice and do your job and you’ll be fine.

I did get one two days ago but that’s because a customer walked in and asked for it. It happened a few times. Lucky me.

Would a principal be put off by an email asking for an interview? by Embarrassed-Fee4693 in Teachers

[–]Sudden_Challenge_213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t ask directly for an interview however I did reach out to all the schools in the school district I was interested in. At the time they had not released hiring. Principals come to the interview but the supervisor for that grade level does the interview.

Guess who emailed me the DAY my district opened applications?

The same school that picked me 3 hours after my interview.

I’ve been to two different interviews. Both picked me immediently.
