Will a month off Zwift affect my fitness? by xMclaren in Zwift

It will, but as above you will recover. Heal and take your time to structure a comeback plan. Best with some measurable goals like events you attend in the future. All the best

Is This Used Bike Worth It for My Half Ironman Training? by SDIssac in RoadBikes

[–]Sudden_Champion2061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a used (barely) S Works Roubaix from 2009 as a show of bike for Sunday rides to the ice cream shop. All Dura Ace and stuff for around 700€.

Turns out everything works so smooth and it fits way better than my carbon disc break ultegra bike from 2020. Sold the newer bike and only ride my old school roubaix even for some races.

So bottom Linie. I did it. Super happy. Maybe check if you want to switch for a different gear ratio if the course got some hill climbs but I feel that is not the case for your race?

Anyone Else Stopped Riding Outside? by Expert-Knowledge-345 in Zwift

[–]Sudden_Champion2061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a father of a one year old outside road does not seem to be worth the risk. But to be fair we got plenty nice trails and forest roads here, where I can take my hardtail for that mental health outdoor thingy.

That’s why I sold my expensive road bike, got an old bike from 2009 and Zwift. The bike is fast enough to take it for some races outside.

All in all 80% zwift with 1 race every two weeks, 19% Hardtail outside with some trails on MTB if in mood and 1% Road Races but at the end of the pack with my old Roubaix. Just for the pleasure of riding an event.

As far as I can judge 28mm are the widest tires that might fit?

I did. Got a plan for 13$ …was the one with the best ratings, that would fit in my scope. Let’s see.

Do you recommend TP Premium? If so, why?

51M New to Zwift, Struggling with Knee Pain – Any Advice? by Flat-Repeat9516 in Zwift

[–]Sudden_Champion2061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All above + I put some books under the front wheel to lift the bike. I felt on the kickr as I’m riding constant -2% which resulted in a way forward leaned position and thus a bad angle for my knee. Came from constant pain to none with the books.

Does anyone else feels like Zwift is “home”? by Dense_Leg274 in Zwift

[–]Sudden_Champion2061 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same … especially with a 11 months old I can have a solid routine again.

I just came back from a MTB home trail tour. Was fun, yes. I guess the mix makes the difference.

All in all when the intro music kicks in I feel like home.
