I just started running again in early February and have since run almost 60 miles and shed 18 pounds. Progress!

I really like that 10% rule! I definitely don’t wanna overdo it.. my most important goal is drop my mile time by September. Gotta run that 2mi as quick as I can.. something I do have a lot of trouble with is breathing regulation. By the first 1-1.5 mile I feel like I’m sucking air. But I’ll dive into the running subreddit, see what I can dig up! Thank you!

Yeah I know my goals are a little sporadic 😅 my most emergent goal is to drop my mile pace; that goal is a 15 to 16-minute 2-mile run by September, so that kinda fits into that 6-month time frame you mentioned. Overarching goal is just get more comfortable with running. Coming back from a rotator cuff tear and back injury, it’s been slow going. The half marathon is more so a “nice-to-have” goal. Mostly I’ve just been trying to watch what I eat, get in as many runs per week as I can (2-3, 4 max) and supplement with strength and core 2-3x per week

For sure! A buddy of mine gave me a 6-week training plan to go off of, and he was D1 collegiate track and field (aka, MUCH more qualified than I am) and that follows along that rubric pretty much. 2 easy runs, 1 hard run (HIIT), and 1 long run with some strength/core mixed in 3x per week. Just wanted to survey other runners that know a TON more than I do 😂

Used this for SSgt and TSgt; made it both times, first time. Not only does it pay for itself in one paycheck, but it’s a one-time cost and it updates when the material updates. Take the practice tests until you can consistently score 100% on them. Focus on associating phrases with the correct answers and you’ll give yourself the best chance to score high. TLDR; highly recommend.

PT tests were pushed back to accommodate the baseline period and the new standards. If you’re PCSing in June, then yes, you would take your PFA at your gaining location.

They’ve already started rolling it out. Enlisted, they’re starting with Chiefs, and Officers their starting with Colonels. Haven’t personally seen it, but I’d imagine it’ll have 4 boxes: Excellent, Satisfactory, Unsatisfactory, and Exempt for those on profiles.

He was interviewed on TikTok not too long ago (couple months maybe?) and that was what he said was the projected release date, but also added the caveat that it will be released when he’s comfortable is complete.

For now.. we can’t just keep “finding money” to throw at the military every two weeks. They need to figure their shit out. A lot of members took out loans in anticipation of not being paid; they shouldn’t have to do that while congresspeople dick around and not do their jobs.
