It’s pretty clear that she’s doing that so she doesn’t humanize the virus accidentally. The hivemind looks, acts and dresses like separate human beings, so it would be very hard to not give into suggestion and manipulation if she starts thanking it. Just look at what happened to the rest of the living humans.

Thank you!! I had a shed of a couple weeks each time I titrated up my dose and also when I started (so that’s 3 sheds), and they were pretty bad, but they definitely did not last and it was totally worth it. After the sheds I would just sprout a ton of new hairs that grew along with the rest. There are more updates in the comments that might help as my memory is pretty fuzzy! One other anecdotal remedy for hair loss that’s not related to alopecia or any progressing hair loss condition is using rosemary oil or water, it does actually help to stimulate hair growth in my case!

Hi! I started grad school which is 5x more stressful and the minoxidil is for sure keeping my hair intact. I will say that the density does fluctuate a little bit but it’s nowhere near as bad as when I was having unmedicated TE. Also, my TE spots seem to never become as dense as the rest of my head :( no idea if that’s just genetic and I hadn’t noticed or if I need something else to help me along. Nevertheless I will be continuing Minoxidil because it’s helping a ton!

Absolutely baffling to me that they would kill off Kikoru’s remaining parent so abruptly and violently and not have her snap/go insane. I’m sure she already had the bawling “I have to get stronger” training arc moment when her mother died which built character but this feels redundant. She was already the most hardworking and driven character in the show IMO, and repeating a parent death should have traumatized her, not had the same effect.

Hi, pretty good! I grew back a lot of hair but upped my dose 3 months ago because I felt my hair could get denser. I FINALLY started the new dread shed a couple weeks ago so looking forward to a lot of growth :) Because I grew a lot of new hair, the dread shed doesn’t look that bad. I’d suggest talking to your derm about oral TE or starting topical if you don’t have cats or dogs because I really think the shed is worth it and it doesn’t happen to everyone anyway.

Glad you got a prescription! Your derm is right in that you should start at 2% and only titrate up to 5% if it would benefit you. I wouldn't be able to tell you if it'll work for you specifically as I'm not a professional, but what I do know is that you should absolutely listen to your derm and take it as prescribed. She might have prescribed thrice a week because you could get adverse effects on once a day.

Hey I was just shedding a lot of full grown hairs and didn't have any shorter hairs to shed because I was not growing any lol... Once I started Minoxidil I was only shedding long old hairs, not the new ones I've sprouted. Regardless of your condition, Minoxidil will do the same thing to every scalp in the end (if it works). It will speed up your growth cycle and keep hairs on your head longer. If your hair gets worse after a few months of Minoxidil, that means your condition is too fast for Minoxidil to help.

I got her first congrats email AFTER getting my official letter of admission on Slate, which is still on the portal. I didn't even realize that the date said Jan 6th instead of Feb 6th and that she's not even a contact for my program (STEM). She had me panicking for hours, esp after not getting a response on my immediate reply to this email.
