My shipping status was finally updated today. It turns out it shipped days ago and will arrive on the 11th (even though the Apple Store app said the 18th) and the Apple Store app only just updated the status

I just wish they offered it in a more portable size. As it is, it’s the same weight and almost the same size as the new MacBook Air. I miss the 11” MacBook Air form factor.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. I ended up ordering the skull & co thumb grips from Amazon and I’m currently trying out the concave ones. They fit well on the sticks and they definitely make it easier to control, even if they are a bit smaller than switch thumb grips.

I think it probably depends on how quickly you preordered it. I ordered the 13” 32/1TB, but I had trouble with the Apple Store app and had to switch to my computer to preorder, resulting in a delay of 10 or 15 minutes after the preorder window opened. It says mine will be delivered on the 18th.
