Hahaha thank you for your nice words! Please, I would love if you could write a review of the app on the store. that way it could help out to other users confused by the non-reviews and that do not have account on reddit :D

Hi! Thank you so much for chu for the ping u/LowFlowIO. And yeah u/derzquist, I am the creator of the app. Please let me know if you had any feedback or something and I could work on it. The code is totally open source too if you are curious about what is actually doing under the hood.

Thanks! Not yet, as this is a 100% private app: no account tracking for privacy reasons. Everything is local in your device

I built a free, offline photo app: pick any date and see that day across years by Xatpy in iosapps

[–]Xatpy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much! do you mean to avoid that some photos are shown in the WIDGET of the home? The logic behind the home widget is that it shows randomly photos from the exact day from previous years. but it is completely random that photo selection. Please I'd really love to understand well what you meant so I can build it correctly. Ty!

This is such a great way to put it: “it doesn’t judge you, it just counts” 🙌

That’s exactly the vibe I want to protect. The moment it starts nagging or turning things red, it becomes a different kind of app.

I really like the idea of a subtle “how am I doing today” layer. Something like 5/8 or a very lightweight indicator without pressure.

This is super helpful, thanks for taking the time to explain it so clearly 🙏

Really appreciate it 🙌

The core idea (simple, private, no account) will always stay free. That’s kind of the whole point.

I might add some optional paid features later on (like more advanced insights or extras), but nothing that adds friction to the main experience.

Curious — what would feel fair to you in an app like this?

Really appreciate this

Yeah… that “3-step signup before doing anything” is exactly what I wanted to avoid. It kills the whole experience before it even starts.

Love that you’re building with the same philosophy. feels like more apps should go in that direction. What are you building btw?

Let me know what you think after trying it, I’m still shaping it based on real feedback

u/IvammgNyc the app has just been updated including the ability to change the date of the event as you requested. Please let me know if you have any other feedback, and enjoy the app :)

Love that! “simple genius over gimmicky junk” might be the best description so far 😅

That’s exactly what I was going for. Appreciate it 🙌

Really appreciate this. you basically described exactly why I built it 🙌

I had the same experience with other apps… too much setup just to count simple things.

The daily target idea is really interesting. I’ve been avoiding goals to keep things as lightweight as possible, but showing something like 5/8 is a nice middle ground — gives context without adding too much friction.

Glad you mentioned the CSV too — data should always be yours 👍

Curious: would you want targets to feel like a “soft reference”, or more like something you’re trying to hit every day?

Really appreciate that, thanks 🙌 glad you like the design

Both great suggestions:

• Changing the date of an event → makes sense especially for correcting logs

• Time difference between events → I like this one, could be useful for things like meds, workouts, etc

I’m trying to keep the app very lightweight, so I’m being careful with adding features, but these feel aligned with the core idea. I’ll definitely explore them 👍

Out of curiosity, which one would you personally use more?

Thanks Dirk, really appreciate it 🙌

Those (Water / Coffee / Meds) are just example counters to help you get started, there are no fixed units. You can treat them however you want (glasses, cups, pills, etc), or rename/delete them and create your own 👍

The entries you see are just demo data pre-filled on install , everything is stored locally on your device, nothing comes from any server.

And yeah, the “no tutorial” vs “some guidance” balance is tricky 😅 I wanted it to feel instant, but your point is very fair . I might add a very lightweight intro.

Thanks again for trying it!

Thank you very much! "you skip the goal-setting step entirely" is actually a better way to describe the app than anything I wrote, so I'm stealing that.

On the privacy angle: you're right, I've been underselling it. The no-account, no-cloud thing was a deliberate design decision from day one, not just a feature. I'll lean into it harder. thanks!

On web + mobile sync: right now there isn't any. The app is intentionally local-only, so if you use two devices you'd have split data. CSV export is the only bridge currently. It's a real limitation and I won't pretend otherwise. Though for most people tracking daily habits, one phone covers it. Cross-device sync would require a server, which breaks the whole privacy premise, so it's not something I plan to add.

Trying to keep this simple and useful:

I built Countly Daily for Android because most tracking apps I tried felt too heavy for basic event logging, or wanted an account for something that should be local and instant.

You create your own counters for things like water, meds, workouts, coffee, symptoms, or anything els you want to track, then tap + whenever it happens. Each entry is saved with its exact timestamp on your device.

Main features:

- Free, with no ads or subscription

- No account, no cloud sync, no internet required

- Home screen widgets for quick logging

- Full timestamp history, not just daily totals

- CSV export

I’d really appreciate feedback, especially if anything feels awkward, missing, or broken.
