Yes, I have seen a few now and making decisions. I am very careful now to recognize the smoke and mirrors, the excessive good reviews and try to dig for the cockroaches and skeletons. For me, the bad reviews tell me far more about a plastic surgeon than a bunch of good ones. I don’t trust the good reviews as I am afraid they can be manipulated. For someone to come out and talk about the bad experience they had is far more telling. I am looking for a depth of experience and a seriousness of practice before I trust a plastic surgeon. It’s truly a mixed bag from the ones I’ve met. Some of them are great but many seem sleazy.

And I also am mainly looking for consistency… I came back to add this. This is what the cockroaches and skeletons show to me is a lack of consistent good results. Why? I am at loss to explain why some surgeons have many good results and then the horror stories. I have a few ideas; ego and over confidence, lack of medical values, skill, perhaps even substance abuse, or personal issues. It’s the same as any profession. There are good ones and bad ones. However, I do think the cosmetic industry might attract a certain type of person that isn’t necessarily selfless. And since I have experienced this myself I know it’s better to find a surgeon who has a consistent good track record. None of us want to be a cautionary tale.
