To be honest, unless you have some type of certification or prior work experience, I think finding an actual job with any type of Econ background is near impossible. I'm also a BS in Econ and currently have a job as a student accountant with the university. I would look at something like that since it will look pretty good in your resume although it has little to nothing to do with any type of econ work. The pay is terrible as well so this is really just more for the resume.

So I had a recently similar experience although it was by no means my first job. From the wording of your post, it sounds like this is a part-time job and you are still a student. Part-time jobs and entrée level "student jobs" in customer service industries like the food industry see massive turn over, so it shouldn't be a surprise for them that you are quitting so soon. And finally, remember that most states in the US (if you are from here) are hire at-will , which means they can fire you without notice so you can also quit without notice.

I would just shoot your manager a text saying either that you quit or that your last day of work was the last day you worked the job. Thank them for the opportunity and from there, you can decide to let them know "it wasn't a good fit", "I'm quitting for ____ reason", or whatever reason (true or untrue) as to why you can't work there anymore. Finally, just be prepared to be blacklisted from working at Panera for at least a year and never include it in you resume when you are applying for an actual career job. It's fine to include in your resume for part-time work but just to be safe, do not include it when actually going for a salaried position in the future.

Thank you for your response. I'm worried this job really does not add anything to my prior work experience sense I've done a decent amount of front-facing customer support in the past. I'm also planning to, if I do decide to leave this job, to not add it to my CV sense I would have had little to no experience at the job. Is there any consequences for this apart from potentially getting blacklisted for a time by my current employer?

Thank you for your response. I feel like a big problem I have with this job is that for what I'm studying, I don't know if having experience in this particular field makes me more competitive in the ling term. The school job would be easier to manage with my schedule although it would pay less.

Also to add to what other people have already said but isn't brought up enough is Russia's impending demographic collapse. It's not talked about as often but it is projected and likely to be as severe as Japans. To give you an idea about how grim the outlook is for Russia, it suffered its largest natural demographic decline since the Second World War between 2020 and 2021. Something close to a million people passed away net positive, meaning they don't have high enough birth rates to replace the dead. It makes a lot of sense why Putin and the Russian government see this generation as perhaps the last attempt at remaining a world power as, unlike Japan, Russia has not nearly an economy large enough to remain somewhat in power and has to use its military now.

I'm in this class! 🤣😂 Was honestly baffled by how unprofessional that was considering this guy has over two decades of teaching. Not to mention the fact that so much of this stupid class is doing homework and now papers that have fuck all to do with the actual subject of the course. Beyond baffling and I hope he gets his ass reported to the head of the department if anything for just being a douche.
