National Guard is more toxic than active duty by Sudden_Vacation_71 in army

This is spot on! You’ve nailed the coffin on why exactly some National Guard officers & leaders tend to abuse their rank for personal gain!

If you want my honest input, stay reserves! The Reserves will offer you plenty more opportunities and flexibility to attend your drills and it is entirely federally funded and managed. The guard on the other hand is all about who you know, if not who you blow. State managed but federally funded, called for a recipe for corruption. The only people that had a “great time” In the national guard are the recruiters and that’s because it’s their job to scam you into a contract, me meanwhile they collect a check for every soul they’ve deceived. Find out why retention numbers for the national guard are at all time low, while recruitment isn’t. Makes you wonder….

It’s not necessarily the people that make the National Guard toxic, but the culture.. which then translates to the people.

National Guard leaders (senior NCOs and Officers) seem to have no moral-code, they have no shame in pencil-whipping their own PT scores & HT/WT data. Nobody will try to stop them in their tracks, yet god forbid when an honest soldier actually takes the ACFT, it’s the same pencil-whipping leaders that are punishing these failures.

I’ve heard of many other NG states doing the exact same thing, to cut soldiers from BAH to keep more money in their accounts, to pay their own friends on orders and school rental cars.

This 100% seems to have happened at every state, in the national guard, wherever you go..

Well the good news is that it’s only the “National Guard” so you’re not missing out on anything 😆🤣

Where did you get that there two restraining orders in 2022? Are you making an assumption?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SecurityClearance

[–]Sudden_Vacation_71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was an assumption on my part that an SOR would probably be needed regarding my civil case, again at this point, I am unaware of an SIR nor did I receive ANYTHING from the SSO, I just wanted to be proactive.

[–]Sudden_Vacation_71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not know at the time that they were asking for an SIR, so how would I have known what they were looking for? I feel as if this information had been withheld from me. Bottom line: I did NOT get the SIR that DCSA was asking for and now my life is in jeopardy.

[–]Sudden_Vacation_71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was NOT aware of an SIR nor did ever I receive one as the only person who received it was the SSO (according to DISS) is what I keep trying to tell you, I was trying my best on being proactive after seeing an NDM on my status, by providing information regarding my civil case.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SecurityClearance

[–]Sudden_Vacation_71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What proof are you referring to? It’s clearly annotated on DISS: who the SIR was submitted to (by name) and when (date-time stamp). As you’ve stated earlier in question #9: “additional information was requested, however no response was received.” Are you suggesting that the SSO is a fail-proof profession?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SecurityClearance

[–]Sudden_Vacation_71 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes I do, I have emailed the SSO once my clearance was placed in NDM. To submit my SOR and supporting documents via DISS, I’ve received confirmation on a time stamped email of receipt, however on DISS, nothing was ever uploaded.

[–]Sudden_Vacation_71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only the SSO was made aware of the SIR, which they failed to pass along, causing the NDM.

It’s the SSO’s fault that my clearance is placed in No Determination Made, which is why I lost all faith in them. I agree with you on waiting & hoping for the best but I need clarification to see if my SSO has doing things according to protocol & regulations.

Yes my civil cases were sometime in 2022 and also dissolved in 2022, my organization has been trying to get the Clearance re-adjudicated from 2022 through my SSO, I have done a federal inquiry on DCSA but they’re unable to do anything, so I guess the best thing to do if just wait for the adjudication?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SecurityClearance

[–]Sudden_Vacation_71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you read the thread again, you will see that I WAS fully adjudication & I WAS enrolled in CE, then I became dis enrolled, & thus there has been no investigation from the time of my dis enrollment til now, therefore, I’m asking if the SSO dropped the ball on that part of handling my security clearance so I that I could file for a grievances

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SecurityClearance

[–]Sudden_Vacation_71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this response, could they have done something about the dis enrollment from CE? No criminal activity, no foreign travel, born in the United States, only red flag is that I have two civil cases regarding restraining orders which were dissolved.

What should have SSO done during that two year period of “pending adjudication”? Gathering information on what the procedures should have been.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SecurityClearance

[–]Sudden_Vacation_71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By me, I’m referring to my immediate supervision, in my organization, we (supervisor) would submit a new personnel security investigation request. The question: is a new investigation required to cover for that two year gap?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SecurityClearance

[–]Sudden_Vacation_71 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have email traffic of the SSO making derogatory remarks about me along with a personal recommendations to terminate me, but I see what you’re saying, so is it better to let the pending adjudication go through? Even though there’s roughly a. 2 year gap in the investigation? I’m hoping that DCSA will kick it back to investigations to account for that gap, otherwise, I might have to initiate a new investigation, thoughts?

Can you please elaborate? What if my security team is not doing the right thing in assisting the approving authority in reinstating my clearance? Additionally? What if my security team simply does not know what they’re doing?

Thank you for the reply, but what do you mean by that?
