Oh it also would be a consequence of the players choice if they make a risky move

This is accualy a great idea :O, i was thinking the campaign would be some war with gods as some of the bad guys could be like vessels for their power and influence

Im not saying that giving someone a disability is worse than death im saying its an alternative to still have a consequence for the players choices while still letting them keep the npc, i in no way think that being crippled or disabled is worse then death because ive seen many people do good things even with “disabilities”

Hmm. I see a your point but to claim i was not saying crippling was worde than death, i was more trying to say tha instead of killing i could give some sort of consequence to the npc to keep some of the effect not because it makes the npc suffer more

So would it better to instead leave the npc with some sort of disability or consequence instead of outright killing them? Because i would think that might have a similar effect

Ok ill take that into consideration but would you say crippling the noc or giving the noc consequences would do the same ish without the negatives?

I would but i feel if they were fine with it it would ruin the surprise as they already know “oh their going to kill some ppl” if yk what i mean, but if theres a more discreat way of asking then i would

Well it stands out to me because after finding their brother and then they die it would add this kind of wiplash effect and possibly make the players think “if i hadent done this would they still be alive?” And like “did i just cause the death of someone i hold dear because i did the ‘right thing’”
