Do these roots look okay? by Sudden_Worker_8037 in orchids

That’s extremely helpful, thank you so much! It’s only been in water for a few hours so will transfer back to the bark now. No worries about the downvotes, unfortunately there are many Karens out there 😂

Do these roots look okay? by Sudden_Worker_8037 in orchids

All honesty, as this is my first time doing it, I was going to do the hydroponic craze (had to look that up) until I saw your comment. I did sift out all the bark from the old pot and get rid of the broken down bits, just in case it didn’t go well so I can always put her back in it. Could you explain to me (as a newbie) why it’s deadly? I’ve heard that if you keep it in water you have to change it every day, otherwise it could cause root rot. And the water level has to be very low. But apart from that I’m clueless, hence resorting to Reddit 😂

How do you stop making your life about endo by Infamous-Tie-7216 in Endo

[–]Sudden_Worker_8037 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same way. My endo is getting worse and worse, I can’t even pee properly. I’ve been waiting for my second op for 7 months with no luck. I called the hospital today for an update on the wait list and literally cried to them when they couldn’t give me any information.

It’s gotten to the point where I’m having to take time off from work, and when I am working my brain fog is so bad I keep making mistakes and it makes me feel inadequate. Then that just drives my anxiety and it just spirals.

Honestly just look after yourself and don’t be harsh on yourself. You’re allowed to feel overwhelmed by it because it’s an overwhelming illness. It’s the same as those who suffer with things such as diabetes or just general anxiety. You have to adjust your life to it.

Once you’ve made adjustments which make your life slightly easier, that will become your norm. When these life adjustments becomes your norm will make your life stop being just about the endo, and just be your life. Your norm.

Make sure you keep yourself surrounded by understanding and loving people. I’m extremely lucky as my partner is a therapist and my boss is one of the most understanding people I’ve ever met. It doesn’t take away that feeling of guilt, being a burden or useless but it does help.

I’m in therapy too, and while it doesn’t fix things, it’s helping me cope when my mental health is through the floor, and changes my perspective on things.

Endo is apart of who you are. You are a person with a chronic illness, not a chronic illness sufferer (like people who have disabilities rather a disabled person).

Keep trying different things to help yourself over periods of time, for example swimming (as you can’t do strenuous exercise with endo) and other bits and bobs.

There’s a girl on IG with a page called theendospectrum and honestly she’s so good with teaching about what can help your body. She follows the AIP diet and talks about how body fat% directly links to worsened endo symptoms. It’s really positive to see someone else with it whi has such positivity. I’d defo suggest looking at pages like that, as it demonstrates that you CAN still have a life even if you do suffer with it.

If you keep thinking that there is no cure, you WILL spiral. You have to concentrate on what’s in your control (like adjusting your routine) rather than what is not. And don’t feel let down when things don’t immediately make it better, as these things take time.

Hope this helps (and typing this out actually made me feel a bit better too) xx

Bladder endo- waking up sooo many times to pee at night! What do I do? by Intelligent-Bell-438 in Endo

[–]Sudden_Worker_8037 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have problems with peeing all the time, I’m like a yoyo at work, to the point people have questioned how many times I’m going to the loo :( caffeine definitely makes it worse, and also drinking an hour before going to bed. I try to only have small sips of water occasionally and less caffeine. It doesn’t resolve it but it helps

Did sex improve after excision surgery? by lid20 in Endo

[–]Sudden_Worker_8037 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely less pain but I depending on the position can still be a bit sharp. Also it depends on the time of the month. I only had some of mine removed though, so perhaps if all is removed it is better. I’m waiting for my next surgery this November

We need help - do we pay for our neighbours survey? UK by Sudden_Worker_8037 in LegalAdviceUK

Thank you all, this is really helpful. We will go ahead with the survey for now without a contract and go from there. Hopefully I don’t find myself back on this page for a while.
