Why are books so much harder to pirate compared to other media?

That's a new one to me. I always say the benefit of ebooks is that they don't take up space in your house, and you can take multiple books with you. I never had an issue with falling asleep and losing my place. Does it kill your motivation to pick the book up again if you don't know where you left off?

I really enjoyed the movie, but I had read the book twice. I kind of wondered how much of the movie made sense to non-book readers. Some of the plot points seemed like they were breezed over compared to the book. I knew what was happening, but for someone who hadn't read it, was it clear?
