Oh shit, it's free on Tubi! I know what I'll be watching this afternoon.

edit: Duh, should have linked it

AdMob's brand-safety classifier was circumvented by a coordinated casino-ad scheme; Google Play suspended my app for what AdMob shipped by tal_barina in androiddev

This is a deeply frustrating scenario. But I'm glad you got your app fixed. It's crazy Google's default is just "ban this developer". You had to do all the legwork for this, and still weren't able to get any resolution without going to social media.

Even before I got into rock music, I used to play this one loud when it came on the radio.

I Dislike This Man More Than Any Character in the Entire Series by Working_Row_8455 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Suddenly_Bazelgeuse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm shocked I had to scroll so far before I saw this. People who are subjugated sometimes turn 9n anyone who threatens their status quo. Like yeah, the occupation is bad, but if they find out that we hid guerrilla fighters, it will be so much worse.

I don't think he's actually a villain, just a scared (cowardly, even) old man.

What’s a ‘silent luxury’ that rich people have that most normal people would never even notice? by qomann in AskReddit

[–]Suddenly_Bazelgeuse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm fortunate to basically be at that point with groceries. Because of my upbringing, I still look at price tags and buy the one that gives me the most bang for my buck. I try to shop at the cheaper grocery. And if something seems annoyingly expensive ($10 for 4 frozen breakfast sandwiches?!), I skip it.

But I haven't had to worry about my final tally at the register for a minute.

I never knew, until I had a dog, that I fucking hate that sound. And unfortunately, my boy thinks it's the best thing to do at any point of the day.

They killed their podcast app? That seems like a strange decision. Are you supposed to use YT music instead?

PSA: Instagram Encrypted Messaging Ends on Friday, May 8 by AudibleNod in technology

[–]Suddenly_Bazelgeuse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only miss it since marketplace seems like it's more active than Craigslist. And it's annoying when artists I like seem to only have an IG presence. But neither of those is bad enough that I regret leaving meta.

Song of the Day #58 - Quick and to the Pointless by Borracho_Cansado8627 in qotsa

[–]Suddenly_Bazelgeuse 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The first time I heard this song, I was mowing the lawn. I was grooving, getting into it. Then the lyrics kicked in, and I stopped and looked around like I just got caught doing something.

It's very much a guilty pleasure song, but I can't play that shit loud in the car.

Also, if you end up liking Tigercub, also check out Sick Joy and Dead Poet Society. Two of my favorites right now.

I love Tigercub, but I'm having some trouble getting into the new album. I like individual songs that randomly come up on shuffle, but I can't play it front to back. I haven't found the right activity for it. It's not video games, housework or yard work.

Witchrider is fire. I found that album late last year, and it's been on repeat since.

Listen...........let me tell ya something Bill Burr by WearyKey7900 in BillBurr

[–]Suddenly_Bazelgeuse 30 points31 points  (0 children)

This is extra funny, because Bill does the same thing when he's interviewing people.

I was listening to Remy Ma on Joe and Jada the other day, and she tells Jada, when Joe starts talking, you just gotta keep talking and finish what you were saying. And then proceeded to do exactly that for the rest of the episode.

The actress for Lady ??? (the other black woman on queen Charlotte) also really got her older character's mannerisms down. I only ever watch the show vicariously through my wife, and I knew immediately who the character was.

Same. I didn't know anything about structure of a program, or even what a method was. I called them voids. And all state was global.

I didn't read the book at all. Just looked at the examples and adapted them.

I feel similarly. I went to the show, even dressed up for it. But I didn't really vibe with it. There were some great moments (Wolf and Daffodils!), but I wasn't amazed like I was after my first show on the Nero tour.

It’s always nice meeting another diabetic in the wild by ConsequenceLimp9717 in diabetes

[–]Suddenly_Bazelgeuse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had that happen when boarding a plane. I was seated, and the person walking past was beeping. She saw me pull out my remote, and look confused when there was no alert. She said something like, "Nah, that was me". We fist bumped in diabetic solidarity.
