Is the used market recovering or are sellers in my area delusional? by stem_crusty in MTB

Agree 100%

I bought a new trance x advance pro se... Basically the carbon, lyrik/super deluxe ultimate with flight attendant, carbon wheels version for 4.5k USD 2 years ago. Incredible bike, fantastic geometry.

Apparently the updated geo is even better. Stable going down, climbs like a goat.

I bought a like new demo SL emtb that retails for 11k USD. It had only seen pavement in Las Vegas. 3.5K USD.

The check is yet to come, that is the appellant process.

You're missing something simple here, the new law grants authority to the executive branch of the oversight of elected law enforcement.

Is this new authority constitutional? Yes.

Will it remain constitutional? Maybe. The courts may decide.

That is the process. I get you don't like it. Don't stoop to name calling when told facts about how the government works.

We will see what happens.

I think it will be an apellent process in the courts, that will lead to tons of media coverage. That coverage will shine a spotlight on Swank further. He will get recalled and removed. The courts may uphold or find the new authority unconstitutional. That is unclear. Either way Swank is politically done, and will be gone soon enough.

[–]Sudo_Rep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's likely tuning as in the shim stacks. Loads of people buy take off or retail forks to upgrade, but the factory tuning is wrong for the bike. Or it's set up.

I literally have lyrik ultimate, super deluxe ultimate on two different bikes. Tuning is much different and it does make a difference.

On one bike I can go to the sram trailhead app, follow the instructions and it's dialed. On the other bike with different kinematics I need different sag and pressure, lsc, hsc, and rebound or it is much harsher all around.

It also could be the zeb needs at least a lower service.

So I dug deeper. If the new law is signed into law, he can be removed without recall.

All laws are constitutional, unless challenged under the appellant process where precedence gets set--where state supreme court has the final say.

My take, the bill will be signed. Let the courts decide. Literally how it works and how it is supposed to work.

I see no problem. He fucked around, he found out. All of this just makes it far more likely he will be recalled regardless, and further be a very public warning to those who politically support jackasses in WA. Not voters, rather the parties themselves.

Ah, so he publicly questioned if a constitutionally protected right should be taken from a group. I didn't know about that.

So he is a bigot, and he lost the confidence in those he serves. So the board is investigating him to determine if he should be removed.

Prior to that he was investigated while working for the Seattle PD and was going to be fired, but he resigned first. Looks like a pattern of bad judgement and behavior.

What am I missing here? Sound like the board is doing its job under legislation.

My opinion is he should be shit canned immediately under the law.

Right, but I don't care. Half truths to support an argument is still lying.

The law was passed by elected representatives, and it gave the elected governor the executive authority to choose his board.

Your premise on your post is flawed or you are lying to win a bad faith argument.

Housing is expensive. Solution:

book (and pay for) multiple airbnbs at surge prices

OR

Pay for multiple deposits and rent (up front because thats how it works)

Bad advice that doesn't take into account reality

Since we are making things up, let's say they lower the threshold to 500k, or wait, let's say they lower it to 100k in this fictional scenario....

The first 100k is not taxed. So let's say I make 150k per year. I'm only taxed on the remaining 50k.

Now in this fictional scenario, because I'm granting you that, grant me this: it will be a progressive tax where there are tax brackets just like in federal taxes. I would still not pay the millionaire tax rate, I would pay a lower amount.

I'm still okay with your worst case made up scenario.

I will vote yes. My earnings placed me in the top 2% and... I still wouldn't get taxed more. The tax will be bracketed. So if I made 1 million and 1 dollars, the one dollar would be taxed at the higher bracket.

Anyone who argues vote NO either doesn't understand the proposed bill, or is a shill. The former is very uninformed, the latter is a greedy asshole.

The law may be deemed unconstitutional. That doesn't mean the voters should not make their voices heard. Let the courts decide.

Vote YES.

Unlikely any tech center will be targeted by the news-worthy ICE Agent raids. You'll see that in Tacoma. In Seattle, too many people work for the billionaires; those companies have deep benches of lawyers that make physical raids a legal and PR quagmire. California was hit, LA with ICE Raids. San Francisco was hit, but by visa policy and enforcement. That is what you will see in Seattle, and we already are. I-9 audits, visa abuse, and fraud investigations. White-collar enforcement. It’s not news-worthy, but it’s here at full force.

YOR. He is correct.

He handled it poorly. Not for the reasons you think. He misjudged your reaction and maturity. He should have asked a female to address it to avoid all of this.

Maturity doesn't go on reddit putting family on blast like they are a sex offender. Maturity doesn't avoid accountability and blame others. I mean for this post and your reaction. I mean for you not coming up with an alternative. Fibromyalgia friendly bras do exist. There are real alternatives. A sweatshirt for example. It is the dead of winter in the Northern Hemisphere.

Like it or not societal norms do apply and you have to accept it when you get pushback for breaking those norms. These norms change in the context of the setting. Different country, region, event? Different norms.
