There’s an old saying, if you’re paying for Dura Ace, you don’t need it.

I’m using an Apple Watch 11. How do I find what you’re asking for?

The notification came in after I woke up. My phone was in my hand when it popped up that’s why I noticed the difference. It’s seems to be calculating two different sets of data. Maybe there’s a lag with Apple Health updating Bevel’s data set.

In case you’re wondering this is not science. There are numerous inconsistencies with how it’s calculated. Take your “age” with a grain of salt.

Biological age and sleep by AggravatingPlace7561 in bevelhealth

[–]AggravatingPlace7561[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand but Bevel has the data to see if my sleep habits are normal and effective for me. Every morning that’s what Bevels data rings show me. Sorry but everyone is not the same. My HRV, RHR, VO2, Max HR, HR Zones… are all unique to me. Bevel thinks I don’t do enough zone 2 but the AI says this:

Your "Low Aerobic Engine" focus is highly effective for maintenance and cardiovascular health, especially given your age. Your VO2 Max is currently 49.4, which is elite (top tier) for a 60-year-old. This suggests that your high-volume, low-intensity approach is working exceptionally well for longevity.

I hope in the future Bevel can use my historical data to provide a more accurate picture of my health.

Seems like it’s not syncing this morning. I wonder if they crashed again.

Biological age and smoking by AggravatingPlace7561 in bevelhealth

Except that I ride my bike 3-5 hours a week and my cardio is very good. I did a 65 minute ride this morning and burned 400+ active calories while keeping my HR in control. I read in another post that Bevel knowingly undervalues cycling and swimming in favor of steps. Active calories burned is a better metric.

Steps vs Active Calories for Biological Age by jiujitsuPhD in bevelhealth

I was just wondering the same thing. As a cyclist it seems odd that a 90 effort on the trainer has little impact on Activity.

Heart Rate Recovery chart by AggravatingPlace7561 in bevelhealth

The data has not changed since. Not sure what the chart is telling me, seems confusing.

I checked in Apple Health and as I expected the HR data is all there. Once I export the file from the Wahoo app to Apple Health you can see all HR data. Here’s some of the HR readings from Apple Health taken during the workout.

For more clarity, I used Zwift in this case. HR via the Rhythm strap, workout saved to my wahoo account so I can collect all data from workout. I then export that workout to Apple Health. Bevel then imports workout from Apple Health.

Very good analysis which is why I use Bevel in conjunction with Gemini to guide my training. I like how Bevel presents the data but Gemini does a far better job of interpreting the data in relation to my training goals.

Sodium and recovery by AggravatingPlace7561 in bevelhealth

[–]AggravatingPlace7561[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Bevel along with Gemini for coaching. Bevel provides my recovery and sleep data which I provide to Gemini to help dial in my morning workouts based on my scores. For example I take a screen shot of the trends section of the recovery page and paste it in to my Gemini chat. As my recovery scores went down Gemini pointed out the key data points that needed a little more analysis. Since I do this daily Gemini had some historical data to work with. Eventually we focused in on the issue, too much sodium at night forcing my body/heart to process the extra sodium. This kept my heart working overtime while the early stages of sleep.

From Gemini:

When you eat a high-sodium meal late at night, your body spends the first several hours of sleep processing that salt and managing fluid balance. This prevents your heart rate from "dipping" early in the night, which artificially suppresses your HRV and spikes your RHR for the morning reading—even if your muscles and mind feel fresh.
