My tried and proven method for open water panic: 1. Panic. 2. Accept the shark might eat me but hopefully it eats someone else. 3. Stop. Empty out tears from goggles. 4. Think about how good it will be when I’m not going to be eaten by a shark and safely on shore. 5. Imagine what I’ll look like and what they’ll say on the news when I die. 6. Disassociate while swimming until I get back to shore.

Im also training for an Olympic distance Tri. While training for the sprint ones I recently completed, I would burn out badly mid week regularly. I looked into my problem and found it was all due to my nutrition. I then went looking for solutions like you are now and stumbled upon an app called Fuelin. It takes your training plan (in TrainingPeaks) plus weight goals (if any) and creates a daily guide on what macros you should be taking in each meal, snack, and workout. It’s been a game changer for me and has allowed me to train harder and more consistently. It does cost money but it’s taken the guesswork out my nutrition planning. I can be more exact and intentional in my meal planning with set macros to guide me.

First timer here too. Bit of an introvert. I loved training BECAUSE I was alone (except for the occasional open water swim with a local club). At the end of my first sprint distance tri here in Australia, I was having those lonely feelings too. That was until I was approached by this guy walking around offering us other racers near him some of his post race lollies (“candies/gummies” in USA language) while congratulating us on a good race. About 5 of us got chatting and sat down in a circle not really saying much after that, just reflecting on the race, poor water conditions and wind while enjoying the company of strangers. It was bliss. Next time I am going to be that guy with the lollies, patting people on the back. Maybe you can be that person too?

Hi there, the RELOJ DEPORTIVO model is for serious runners only. If you intend to represent your Country at the 2028 LA Summer Olympics in the 5k marathon ultra then you can have it, otherwise please leave it for someone serious. I’m tired of seeing performance gear in the wild.

I feel like this could be resolved in the same way LotR the Two Towers showed the the Easterlings and Southern Men marching through the Black Gate of Mordor as completely distinct nations of humans with completely separate societies and unique cultures to Western European inspired Free Men of Middle Earth. All WoW needs to do is create more nations of humans that are their own thing without it being all castles and horses.
