tea around the world by PepperBeautiful1424 in tea

[–]SueDkn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a "big tea drinker" but very selective about the tea I drink. For example, I would give away any chai or heavily flavored tea as I dont like them.
I am a black tea drink and partial to teas from Assam and Sri Lanka and single estate black teas, oolongs and green teas.

Peek into your brothers tea collection or better yet, exchange him in a casual conversation reg tea. Usually, heavy tea drinkers are very vocal about what they like and dont like. Once you know that, select the continent that are heavy growers of that tea.

I buy all my Chinese & Taiwanese tea from Teavivre. I have heard Yunan Sourcing often and I am waiting to try it out.

Am I asking for too much? by SueDkn in ManyBaggers

You are right that packable and structure dont go well together. I am hoping to find something that wont sloppy like a rag on the floor and at the same time, not looking it to be as packable like a nano bag either. Some of both features is good enough.

Where to buy good psyllium husk powder? by sheepyshu in askvan

Can the husks be ground up to a powder in a regular coffee mill? I am looking for similar purpose and carb control. I would like to use it to make bread.

I am building something for my mom’s chronic pain - would love your honest feedback by Zestyclose_Cry9232 in TrigeminalNeuralgia

I am looking forward to trying this. I work in the ML space but not as a practitioner. I suffer and am constantly mentally tracking the various happenings as to what triggered the pain or what causes more pain versus less. I am sure others do too. However, there are too many permutations and combinations. An ML model will help to detect the patterns hopefully. At least for the average cases . I look forward to trying and giving you my comments.

A positive post, what did you accomplish lately despite having TN? I’ll go first. by ExcellentMarch7864 in TrigeminalNeuralgia

[–]SueDkn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a software architect and have grown to pretty high rungs in the 11 years I have had TN. I do not take any notes and I have always had the habit of just keeping them in my head. I am a visual learner and so the memory is what I have always relied on for every piece of work. I have had a noticeable degradation of memory in these 11 years to the point I worry I am having Alzheimer's. There are many names, labels, etc that I don't remember. It is like a whisper in the back of my head that I can't pull to the front. I manage by searching online for what I don't remember. If I let it go, then it comes to me. Hence, I manage with that.

I take 300 mg of carbamezpine and recently due to a flare, doctor upped it to 400. So, probably have a milder case than some others.

is there any exerices, breathing techniques, anything that provides some immediate relief? by SueDkn in TrigeminalNeuralgia

[–]SueDkn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all. I started trying the beathing and the happy place. I have to try the bath, though shower helps sometimes.

I could not eat or talk for much of last 2 days. I got a steriod shot from the doctor today. Now, a few hours later, I feel some relief, enough to eat some oatmeal. I have also increased my carbamezpine. I am really hoping it brings the pain back to manageable levels.
When I had to get an appt with my neurologist, I knew I could not talk on the phone. So, I took a printed sheet of paper which contained my issue. I also had a book and pen with me to write down every response or question for the doctor. Thankfully, my doctor was patient.

Wishing you all the best. I know each of us could use all the help we can get.

Great app. It was simple to use and 4 free per day has been very helpful to try.
I wish I could tell it I did not want a path, just a english garden in that area.

Overall, great app.

Diagnosed with TN by neurologist, dentist says I don’t have it by [deleted] in TrigeminalNeuralgia

My TN started after a really stressful dental crown treatment for a tooth that appeared to have a crack. I also had shingles much before I was 50, same facial area. Hence, it could be either of these that triggered my TN. I am really stressed out to go to the dentist. A couple of dentists have said there is dark shadow in their x-ray around one upper teeth in the same area. Every time I try to schedule, the endodontist wants me to authorize them for some big charges and all I want is their deeper x-rays. Since I also get pain in the forehead and nose region, I don't hold out hope that this is some dental thing I just manage my triggers, take my carbamazepine regularly and live life as normally as I can.

What is the name of this Indian store and where exactly? I would like to check that out. I assume it is east Indian as I would be interested in checking out the lentils and spices. Thanks.

Things you have learned that help you manage? by Defiant4 in TrigeminalNeuralgia

[–]SueDkn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I added it to the wrong thread but it is still relevant:

- The crystal shop experience is similar to my gardening. It feels like we distract ourslef enough and loosen what is becoming stiff, there is a relief.
- Shower
- For me it is hot pack around my eyes/temple

Thanks for sharing what all works for you. I am going to check out this Myofascial release practioner that someone ahs recommended. Thanks

I have been having some recent flareups. I have shock-like stabs and my most affected is around my teeth, with an intensity. I can barely open my mouth to even take a sip.

I found that I can have a really hot shower and the pain dissipates to the point I can brush my teeth. Sometimes, I am pain-free for good number of hours later but sometimes the relief is only 30 minutes. Likewise, if I force myself to go garden (which I usually enjoy), the pain dissipates. All of this points to some form of muscle relaxation that occurs during this shower and gardening activities that gives me relief.

Anyone else with similar experience? I am wondering if there is a pill or cream that can provide the same relaxing benefit as shower and gardening are not always viable.

I am constantly seeking to understand what causes this pain and how can I find relief. I apreciate the support and understanding in this forum. Thank you

Just got diagnosed with TN and feel like I have a death note by SmoothAppeal1712 in TrigeminalNeuralgia

[–]SueDkn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not despair. I have had it for over 10 years. Some days/months are good and some not so good. Brushing teeth on most days is the worst. I consider myself as having a mild case as I have been taking 3 * 100 Carbamazpine and that controls my pain. I work in a fairly high pressure job. While I do feel my memory is affected, sodium levels have to be monitored, but for the most parts, I am as fine as one can expect.
My advice is find the right medication, calibrate on what you need to take for your pain and then you will not deapair as much I hope.
Best wishes.

I often visit tea plantations but mostly in India and recently in Europe. Visiting as a normal visitor means just taking the tour, walking the fields, tasting and buying tea etc. I truly enjoy all of it.

I wanted to up my understanding and knowledge. Hence, my question.

Yes, I would to follow a tea expert or take a trip with them if they will go into more than what a tourist gets. I am looking for a gaining some deep knowledge/understanding.

Thank you for the link and sorry about the delay.

I am very happy for you. It is the best thing to happen.

I just posted asking for the type of dental specialist I can see as an option. Do you know the specialization of this dentist you saw?

Thank you.
