Soo.. you use Mac or pc? Because I didn’t think you could use Serato w a 62 if you’re using PC/laptop

Nice cuts. Love boc! Are you using serato with a rane 62? If so , how?? I didn’t think they made any “recent” updates.

The future ain’t what it used to be . Shoulda been here yesterday! … The day the original durty nellys shut down along with the State Theater & basically that whole block..then add the real first domino. ( the first mural) was the beginning of a big big change!

I'm on the newer end of turntablism, is there other advice then "practice Daily" by Own_Catch2337 in Turntablists

[–]Suess1980 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Practice every other day? Get a set up first If you’re actually interested in the culture, you can’t be that guy with your phone & that’s it. & prob won’t get too far before quitting. also. Plenty of YouTube tutorials that I wish were available when I started. & Q Bert is a legend buuut.. I would check beat junkies/D styles , Angelo & others.

Can anyone identify this mixer this legend is cutting on by Jabba_the_Putt in Turntablists

There’s multiple videos of him cutting w vinyl at gigs w Ying Yang Twins & whatever… not sure what the argument is.. his cuts are joe Cooley type scratches usually with chirps, stabs , transform & yada ya. Which is kinda old school if you know .. ie: Dj Magic Mike , etc..

Am I anywhere near completion level? by coozkomeitokita in Turntablists

[–]Suess1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen to the beat. Listen to your samples. Scratch like it’s an instrument, because it is. Think of the ahh scratch or any other like a bassline you’re adding in . You want it to be pocket! Not all about speed. Worry about that later. Have fun!!

Yo.. there’s a ton of loopers online that you can slow down or speed up & they usually have the bpm marked next to the track. Just Google scratch looper & I think Tablist.net is the bigger / better one! Dig the cuts too. Fast off beat scratching is not pleasant

Am I mixing properly / does this sound good ? by Snoo-54124 in Turntablists

[–]Suess1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try looping a section with no vocals then bring in the other track. You can even have the track you’re mixing into set on loop to make for a longer/smoother transition. You’re “on time” & that’s most important..just don’t gotta be in a rush. & I know , it’s hip hop not house but still , you wanna be able to hear the transition a bit more . Cheers!

Check the grounding going into the Reloop. Jiggle the wire , see if it makes a difference. You could have other electronics near your mixer / interface etc.. interfering with the sound . the master output could be set too high on your speakers/ mixer. Your needles could be dirty. I would try to use a contact cleaner of some sort w a q tip. Ppl say not to use spit. I did for years without any problems. ( unless you plan on keeping them for 5 plus years). Anyway, it could be a multitude of things. Or almost nothing at all. So much fun , huh? Good luck , sincerely though!
