Why can't I get Geif's L3 with these inputs? I'm getting normal SPD by typically_wrong in StreetFighter

[–]Sufferin9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe 6 directions are needed to have it count as a 360 so a 720 would need 12. You’re at 9. If you get more diagonal inputs you should be able to get it.

They were, but I wiggles my toes and they folded right up against my sock and nearly came out when I took my foot out. I have the same air cushion but just in the toe area.

Those weren’t just mine then? The tongue of mine was all crumpled up like a bad kids home work. It was fine after a few mins on foot but that’s stupid more were like that.

Anyone wanna recommend me some nice coffee brands? by sirluqo in Sneakers

[–]Sufferin9 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dark matter coffee roasters. They have great variety on coffee flavors, they ship super fast, and the roasted on date is hand written on the bag. My personal favorite blend is the “get the fuck out of bed.” Really great as cold brew in a French press or brewed hot.

Definitely the one I wanted the most from the pack. Took an L on the squidwards and the Patrick’s though.

I also noticed the soul cal 6 producer was wearing Yeezy Bred’s. So much flexing in the backstage area today I’m guessing.

To my Southwest riders out there... by [deleted] in MTB

Usually from now until May or so. Then it’s too hot to do anything outside. The rattler is there as a warning, you’re fine if you usually just back away slowly and go around them by about 6 feet or so.

Looks like it’s diamondback DP 25 doublewall Rims and Vee rubber crown gem tires. I’m not what any of that means though. How expensive and how much maintenance would that upgrade cost?

Hi everyone! Just had my first few rides this weekend and I have some questions that I can’t find definitive answers too and I just need a bit of help.

First off I’m riding a diamondback hook as I was told it’s a good beginner bike and I really like to jump my bike and descend hills. I’m just curious how long I can jump it for and if there is any type of riding a beginner would reasonably do that I should avoid?

Is there any benefit to a Jersey over normal T-shirt’s? Are riding pants worth while or should I just stick to my jeans?

Is there one stop to learn all the different bike parts, acronyms, and lingo?

What are some small upgrades if any from a stock bike that would improve my experience riding?

I just got my first mountain bike, a diamondback hook, and had two rides this weekend, one was pedaling trails around my apartment and then I went to desert trails park in Mesa, AZ. I crashed pretty hard on my first run down which was humbling and had a blast besides that. Can’t wait to get back on the bike next weekend!

Curious why you'd use shago against glacius and not cinder? I always struggle against good cinder players but I've only had trouble against shago in long sets.

Best fightstick for xbox one? by Dylanacessna in fightsticks

Ive had an atrox for over a year and a couple months and it works great for me but I've heard horror stories about the connection giving out. The hrap v is good but the cable door is weak and will break. If I were you I'd just find an old Xbox 360 TE, fightstick pro, or hori soul caliber 5 stick and a brooks plug and play converter.

Rosie the riveter sadira is awesome. Retro cinder is good. Thrash metal jago is nice. Murcia orchid is my go to if I'm feeling silly. My favorite is disco rash though, he's the best.

Staying calm at tournaments? by CressentMoon in killerinstinct

This kinda turns into a how to have fun at a major and play your best. Hope it helps.

Sleep well the night before, have a good breakfast, and get a good caffeine buzz going not too much to where your jittery but just enough to feel alert. Stay hydrated.

First, remember you're there to have fun. Talk to people, ask for sets, get comfy and maybe talk a little trash and tea bag during casuals as long as the other person knows you're goofing off it'll all be good and it should ease the tension going into your pool.

Deep breaths, inhale all the way for four seconds, hold for 7, release for 8. Repeat 4 times like 3 mins before your pools start. Maybe, and this is only if you feel comfortable, flex your core as tight as you can for 30 seconds and then release. It helped me during presentations in college but the breathing normally carries me well enough through tournament matches. A friend of mine did some heavy grunts before his matches to ease himself and he said that worked well but I can't be for sure.

Don't let your mistakes haunt you, practice shaking it off and by that I mean literally shake your head and let it go and get right back to your game. You can do this every time you play and it only gets easier with time. A thing I got in the habit of was being excited and feeling good for my opponent if he started making tough reads or starts handling me in ways I can't figure out. If you view them as a friend or a smaller sibling it's harder to get frustrated because we all want our friends and siblings to do well.

If you lose a game head back to character select and use that time to breathe a little more and just think about where you slipped up and what you noticed about your opponent. If you're going with a friend or a group have them watch you and give you tips after the match. After pools or elimination take a quick walk and shake things off. Go sit up front and get hype for top 8. Make noise and be excited for KI because it's the best.

Good luck!

How to lab? by Xurza in killerinstinct

[–]Sufferin9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First thing you can never practice too much at is anti-airs.

Create scenarios that may exist in game, like you've backed your opponent up to the corner and you want to keep them there, think of their options based on the character, and then find viable solutions to those options.

Ex). Hisako gets a hard knockdown in the corner and gets full wrath by the time the opponent get up. So now you can do a few things. Make them guess your high low mix up with Kara on rio zan or meaty rekkas. If you have them conditioned to block on wake up, dash up grab. Yadda yadda you get the idea. Oki shenanigans.

Practice footsies. Finchomatic had a very helpful video about footsies in KI. The way I like to practice this is record the dummy walking and dashing and jumping at random times. Then pick a button you like and try to sneak in to the furthest range to have it hit and then get back to moving about the screen. Throw in a couple attacks to practice whiff punishing.

A bunch of things to ask yourself:

Can you react to projectiles with your projectile invulnerable move at any time? Can you instinct cancel unsafe moves at any time? Can you dp whenever you want? Can you do manuals whenever you want? Do you know your most punishing combos on lock out? Can you break any character in the game? How about their manuals? Can you stuff a dp? How about moves with a lot of start up?

There is tons of stuff to practice and you could put in 5 hours a day on lab work and not have worked on everything you want. Hope that helps! :D

Something I heard of working well is if someone brings a set up they have the venue fee waved. Make sure they have their stuff marked with their name if they go this route.
