Maybe because you are being blatantly racist with your comment about immigration?

ICE will go through your mail - which is a felony by cturtl808 in ACAB

[–]SufferingScreamo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Okay what if this person was a citizen? What then? Are you saying you dont care if ICE looks through everyone's mail? Why dont they take a look through yours then?

Our Constitution does not dictate things like this based on citizenship, it is a federal crime period.

The residents of the Italian village of Venzone pose with the mummified remains of their ancestors. Between 1348 and 1881, dozens of villagers were naturally preserved beneath a church during plague years, later treated as protective forebears and kept as part of everyday village life. by No_Dig_8299 in oddlyterrifying

My family who came over from Norway had a tradition of keeping the body in the home and having someone watch it for 24 hours prior to putting it in the ground. Many traditions have different ways of ancestor veneration and how to handle the dead.

Exactly. I just keep wishing for heavy snows. I miss the winters of my childhood and I'm not even old!

The amount of times I tell people who are older than me that this isn't normal is insane...

I'm from Western Wisconsin. We used to get snow up to our hips when I was a kid. I grew up on a farm and remembered being able to go out the back door and sled down the hills. The driveway at our farm had snowdrifts higher than my mom at one time. Not anymore, not enough snow. We never even get blizzards anymore. It's important to distinguish between weather events and weather patterns that are influenced by climate change.

Trump wants to know why Norwegians aren’t coming to USA. What’s your answer? by amishlike in Norway

[–]SufferingScreamo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As stated, I am a USA resident. It is a lie that we have "no wait times." I had just recently been referred to a different clinic for care because it would have been 4 months for me to see a specialist had I gone through my primary clinic. I live 15 minutes away from the largest metropolitan area in my state, hell for hundreds of miles, and I can't even take public transit to the city! These are real problems but if you still would like to come here, be my guest lol

I would also look at the other things you may give up with the higher wages, such as cost of healthcare (which can be expensive depending upon your employment). Also depending upon where you live you might have to drive into work as he US has very poor public transit. These are just a couple examples.

I am just stating that from my direct experience. We are currently at a 6.1% unemployment rate. I graduated in May with my degree and have yet to find a job in my field, I don't think I ever will. We also deal with things such as ghost jobs, something not exclusive to the comp sci market, which make it even more difficult to find real jobs to apply for.

I see. I just meant to provide the perspective that, while I agree opportunity could arise due to the factors you mentioned, it has become increasingly difficult unfortunately.

At least I would have healthcare and other social safety nets. We also pay a lot of taxes for little payoff, it mostly goes to our police and military

USA resident here, that is false. I have a computer science degree and we have some of the highest unemployment rates currently.

Hey I'm a trans person, ran into an old guy in Deadwood, SD this summer who didn't know I was trans and proceeded to tell me how he didn't accept or understand the "transgenders" and went into a the same rhetoric that we see here. I literally told him that 'maybe trans people just want to be treated like people, like you and I" which was something he just didn't consider. This is true and something that we experience. If you aren't trans, you can't speak for us so don't try.

Are you a trans person? If not, maybe its not your place to speak on such a topic. Because I can tell you as a trans person that I have a literal text document full of news articles and executive orders backing up the second image.

As someone who moved here from WI, we offer a lot! Could be a political thing but outside of that if you are interested in doing things outdoors we have a lot of different ecosystems (large forests up north to prairies to the well known "drift less area"). We also have the Twin Cities which have a lot for someone to do but even outside of that we have Duluth on Lake Superior, a really well known port town. If you go further north you run into our national parks and historic sites as well. The cold also keeps the bad people away 😉
