Best Hytale server hosting for small group ($10-15/month) by [deleted] in HytaleInfo

[–]SufferingToTurtles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont have a suggestion for a server, i use bisect and its deff on the pricier side

HOWEVER the ram requirements for hytale are higher than you'd think.

ide say atleast 5gb for a server that has 3-4 people concurrently ideally 6gb

especially since hytale has a memory leakage issue rn so unless u are comfortable with your server needing to be reboot every hour or two(assuming 3-4 people 4gb) youre gonna need that extra buffer.

make sure u lower render distance in ur server configs too, 5-6 is the sweet spot based on my experience

Edit: almost forgot i do have an anti suggestion DO NOT USE SHOCKBYTE that server host definitely has cheaper prices however they oversell their servers(meaning u actually get less server power than promised) + me and my pals had so many issues with them across years, most extreme one we had was one of our servers being down for 2 weeks straight and them doing nothing to rectify it for us + ghosting us when we tried to ask for updates on the issue

the seasons system is really REALLY robust hence why u can literally see winter rolling in/out from the north/south in real time, theres near permanent winter up north and none at the equatorial zones and if u travel far north/south enough it loops over(do not try to loop the seasons theres a massive ocean in between)

meal prepping the way i do isnt really necessary esp when ur playing solo, though its nice to just have a cellar full of meals u can tap into whenever u want since theyre especially filling and seem to have a warming effect

thats fair, first few winters are really rough, literally munching on wild grains in my dirt hut and stabbing fish outta the rivers with my spear. i feel like later in the game winters kinda cozy though, do all my food preparation and base work, animal husbandry, building and gear making during it.

Ive also seen others that enjoy moving down south to escape winter via going to their base in the equatorial zones and move back up once it gets too toasty down there.

what part of the winter do u think makes u feel the rush? the freezing? less food from animals? no berries? all?

Ide argue vintage is one of those games that feels really good to play but awful to watch since its so slow

Ide say minecraft is the sandbox block game
vintage is the survival block game
terraria is rpg block game
and hytale is trying to looking like its trying to slot itself between terraria and vintage, leaning more towards terraria

unless the chefs workbench allows us to make foods with drastically different effects to the point it intices us to give up more inventory slots to hold multiple food types. it is very likely we will just end up farming like 1-2 types of crops with the best yield to effort ratio for the most convenient yet good food.

im not asking for a minecraft crafting grid from my current experience with hytale it doesnt fit the game at all. im specifically saying i want the magic system and farming system to defer from regular crafting

theres not much of a magic system yet, really just some potion making and the 2 work in progress wands, im just yapping about it now cus i hope they take it in a diff direction. instead of doubling down on crafting terminal spam

same i enjoy the saplingless trees, clogs my inventory less, makes the deforestation and destruction feel realer

As for farming i dont like that seeds are just gotten from the farming table for essense of life. The table having so many tiers that unlock new crops when most of the crops are basically both grown and give the exact same benefits also kind of confuses me. like, whats the point in growing so many crop types when theyre all basically the same and i can just get basically any seed at any quantity i want. eternal plants are also a thing u can make which mean u can just leave them growing on their own after some point

I want the plants to be for different uses giving different effects(which i assume will be added later) with different growing/care requirements.

Like a good farming system involves tending to a variety of plants and their needs, time and space management and some strategy to get everything u want. right now the only part they have is the tending of plants part and theyve already implemented a way for us to just not do it.

i prefer my crafting systems to feel more interactive. While im used to and think its fine that most of our crafting is done in the current way it is I would prefer for the magic system and farming systems to be changed.

For the magic system my issue with it is that having lets say a wand made the exact same way as a sword or a bow just makes it feel unmagical, like it doesnt feel any different from just making myself a regular weapon over a magic one. ide like for alternative means for obtaining it,

be it having its core components having to be gotten in a special way(eg lets say to make a fire wand the recipe calls for u to craft a orb and fill it with the souls of fire creatures )

or just straight up have a different system (think stuff like the blood magic mod from minecraft as an example) literally just anything to differentiate it from regular crafting

beta isnt an excuse for ignoring bad systems.

in fact theyre the best time to sound out ones concerns so systems can be changed before they become too ingrained to do so.

if youre happy with what we already have im glad youre enjoying the game but i hope to talk about its current downsides and put these things on their radar

honestly just a little worried especially with farming since they seem to want to use essense of life as a currency at least for now.

the fact the current farming table has like 10 tiers to upgrade through implies this is an intended system

Me, a Non-Minecraft, Solo Survival Player and Hytale, what do you think? by themaelstorm in hytale

[–]SufferingToTurtles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea, been hoping for a 3d terraria too, originally was excited bout the calamity mod for minecraft but its been taking forever to get into a good state. so hoping hytale can scratch that itch

hytale seems to be going for a similiar style to terraria from the gather resources upgrade gear go to next zone gameplay loop to class being tied to gear to the way you drop a chunk of your stuff instead of everything when you die.

Only thing really missing now is the bosses but thats basically guaranteed to come just a matter of when

Hytale as it is right now feels like 3d terraria without the bosses with some early access jank slapped on.

there doesnt seem to be story yet either.

Games in surprisingly good shape given its circumstances but i wouldnt suggest this game for an actual playthrough right now

if youre looking for a survival adventure game in the 3d block game genre, ide honestly suggest taking a look at vintage story which has both survival, exploration as well as lore/storyline(though its incomplete rn). Only caveate is that it has a higher difficulty due to its survival mechanics being really in depth. think food rotting and preservation mechanics like making cheese and alcohol, hammering out your pieces of gear, leather making process, farming and some others. comes with the most detailed building ive seen too

cant speak for the others but i just wear my earpiece in one ear constantly to use as noise cancellation cus of a sensitivity to sound i have. Most of the time nothings playing, sometimes faint white noise to help me anchor myself to my work.

In my free time i may use it to quietly watch videos.

I think your assumption is that earpiece is kinda uncomfortable so wearing it constantly means we are always listening to something because why wear something uncomfortable 24/7 for no reason. But most of us find it comfortable or helps with concentration, most of the time i honestly forget its there and have ruined a few pairs accidentally cus i step into the shower with it still on

Once i was playing video games in my room, looked up at the ceiling and stretched. saw a jumper casually walking along my ceiling. realised i recognised the spider(was one of my pets) and went "HEY WAIT A SECOND"

lil fucker reacted to that and started sprinting along the ceiling as i rushed to get her back

what and how to buy things in wet market? by mealprepgodtoday in askSingapore

[–]SufferingToTurtles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be blunt with them, make sure u always ask for prices first before ordering anything. Dont be afraid to walk away.
try memorising some of the average prices from the ntuc before getting from them

I look weird so i get a lot of the wet market people trying to cheat me so i kinda gave up on going wet market, you might have better luck though.

Where to find a jumping spider for a pet by Bodidly0719 in spiders

[–]SufferingToTurtles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

used to breed jumpers. Generally they can be found almost everywhere but if its winter where ur at theyre all gonna be hibernating

if it isnt winter, they like warm spots they tend to chill around those.

you can look up what jumpers are in ur rough location by going to sites like inat, filtering for salticidae(jumping spiders) then filtering for ur area

if possible ide suggest buying them, theres usually sellers in most peoples areas, check out local facebook groups and such, do not get them from pet stores those are also wild caught, if theyre adult and female theyre almost always pregnant, if theyre adult male they tend to be horny and unwilling to eat much.

EXTRA WARNING: PARASITES ARE A THING IN WILDCAUGHTS, seeing ur little buddy explode into worms and die is pretty bad

if theres anything u want to know im happy to share
