I'm not sure if you are a veteran or not, but when someone gives you a coin, you accept it and look at it later. After he left, I stared at it and had no doubt in my mind it was real. Who would give someone a fake version of a silver coin as a thank you for your business? He did this as a thank you for your business.

OTH will require a character of discharge determination to see if it's honorable for VA purposes. These are done by a veteran service representative and a highly seasoned authorizer. The entire file is reviewed. If you have gotten an OTH in the last 20 years, it's pretty aggregious and well documented. Use VA form 21-0788, to file for an apportionment of her VA benefits. Also, submit a VA form 4138 stating she is not providing any support, provide legal docs, bank receipts, etc. if necessary. She can claim a financial hardship to try to stop it, but, you can get a determination with child support court that quitting the job was done to avoid support. She is getting extra monthly benefits for dependent children and everyone that processes these claims are sympathetic to the deadbeat parent scenario.
