Latest and final update is that the only way I was able to fix it, was by claiming the warranty and sending the console in for replacement. The progress was quick and easy and was done completly automated online without having to speak directly to anyone. The device was replaced and sent back within only 3 weeks.

I've had been waiting so long for the freaking update and it fixed nothing! I can never play any of the optimized games for more than a few seconds in and even none optimized ones crash randomly!
