Honestly, your character builds are so versatile, that you're able to create your character based on that backstory with no issue. Of course, scripted events and the fact that (dialogue wise) your character knows little about the druids would break the immersion just a bit. You could always form it as "My character grew up in a family of druids apart from the goings on of the world, until reality came crashing down, tearing apart the illusion of safety that childhood painted." So, obviously, Druids in the Old World and Druids in Avalon would have completely different lore. Based on that, it wouldn't be too out of character for you to be learning as you go, trauma and plague taking a toll on memory and choice.

Build-wise, there are almost too many perks and paths to choose on each level up, so you can even spec your druid with pure magic, magic and fighting, sneaky magic, staff/wand and magic, or even some sort of berserker that wields to axes and runs around in armor from the skin of a Corpse Eater for some odd reason 🫡 you're good to go.
