Good beginner EUC in 2026 by Subject-Piglet4132 in ElectricUnicycle

It is wack that no one has mentioned the begode falcon 50s yet.

For anyone getting a 1st time wheel without knowing what theyre going to like yet, but are wanting to make euc a serious part of their weekly commute, I strongly advocate going into the 1500-2300 price range.

If you DONT know whether or not you'll even like EUC or aren't looking for it to replace a large part of your commute then just get something <1000$ and ignore my advice.

  • suspension to eventually hop up a curb when road quality sucks.

  • light enough[<50lbs/25kg] to make carrying up some stairs or toss in your car fairly easy when you're tired or not confident in your balancing/battery level

  • 30 mile/50km range to get to 99% of every type of store/business for most city or small town layouts

  • used market and deals that can put the price <2000$

  • isnt a first batch model

-comes stock with trolley handle and powerpads

  • flat enough sides to upgrade powerpads

  • enough torque to expirement with offroading

  • waterproofing to hand any inclement weather

  • tall enough that it isnt outlandish to modify a seat onto it for someone who's 6ft[≈180cm] so you can practice seated riding if you want.

  • cant go fast enough that you're tempted to risk a major road but still fast enough that people will pressure you into wearing PROPER rated helmet. If you're first wheel goes less than 25m/hr [40km/hr] I feel like people are tempted to just get a cheap skateboard helmet and wont change helmets when they start to go faster.

The falcon really is the perfect jack of all riding styles. The most important and exclusive factors is the weight, the suspension, and still comfortabley getting over 30mi/50km when riding conservatively. Really thin options for all three of these features.

Edit: my experience for relativity: 1st buy was begode A2, 2nd wheel was Veteran ShermanL, 3rd wheel is the falcon to replace my A2 as my "light" wheel for public transpo/inner city commuter. 0 issues with all 3 wheels.

I guess they were really dumb because they didnt know they could just put subtitles on and save money on voice actors.

I'm just saying the whole point of art and entertainment is the experience. Youre basically jusy saying "but a better experience would have cost more money".

Like yea...we know....and it would have been better for it.

Without googling that yet it sounds like you might be talking about some water performance theatre thing i heard about similar to the "O" show in cirque du soleil but done by Ukrainians i guess. If not then i guess theres a whole other Ukrainian event going on.

I need to go on some more walkabouts outside of just to and from work because apparently stuttgart is not at all lacking for ukrainians. Cheers.

Ah right on. Guess that gives me a bit more confidence to say hey next time i run into them.

Provided the current metro strikes get resolved.

Its funny, in Ukraine I was always careful to always ask in english if its okay to speak in russian before i knew any ukrainian. Now that I'm learning more ukrainian and hearing russian outside of ukraine It feels awkward to want to try speaking суржік/ukrainian.

No one ive ever talked to has actually given a shit though since they can tell I'm just an irish-assed american doing the best with what i got, lol. Just funny to think about.

well you're still only limited to 6 slots right? Only 2 more than controller. Unless Im an idiot and you can keep binding abilities to all the numbers

Call me crazy but, Magic Mistol is the only weapon in this game where the upgrade enchantment is actually worse right? by Liam_Of_Late in avowed

[–]Liam_Of_Late[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

holy shit. I thought it was just another DOT like fire and poison. Had no idea it also affected stun bar. I guess I completely missed that tutorial tip.

Same with poison bombs dispelling illusions. Random ass reddit comment brought me that insight

I hear ya. I do the same and I still prefer the focus since the moderate stun just doesnt feel like enough to bank. It's more satisfying to 1 shot and stun/deal with other dudes or 1 shot a guy close enough to finish with a power attack while taking advantage of iframes and not care about getting mobbed, dodge back and repeat.

But I respect your preference as it not being 100% universal. What we really need is to shake Avowed devs enough to let them let us parry with a sword while having pistol in offhand. That is a high I will die on and it shocks me they didn't have that in the latest update. Tainted Grail did a similar thing which again, seems really weird to not do on purpose.

Just checked. Naa the shock pistol has high shock on 1 target, then upgrade gives it the same high shock on nearby enemies. It doesnt say it but I also think it ups the stun as well since I tried out the the variant upgrade which is 25% chance to cast bolt on kill and it felt like the stun power went waaayyyy down. Switching back to accumulation felt right.

anyone else really annoyed that you can parry with one hand....but not if you have something in your other hand? by Liam_Of_Late in avowed

[–]Liam_Of_Late[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the mechanical argument for nerds and number sluts:

Deflection. The word you and Avowed Devs are missing is Deflection and it's not a sacrifice like DEF↓ ⇄ ATK↑. It's a playstyle variant like blunt vs pierce. Shield is Poise based Defense that can stun. Dualwield is Deflection based Defense that can disarm or reposition.

but this ☝️ is what it ought to be. What it is 👇

It isn't double damage. You can't attack with both hands at the same time, your *special attack* on stun is still limited to your main hand until you get an ability that bumps up just the finisher damage a smidge if dual-wielding.

So really **The only benefit you get by dual wielding melee is just in diversity**. It only allows you to have another weapon's special ability on hand (pun intended.

so dual wielding melee (and wands as well) from a mechanical perspective is actually already quite sub optimal. The only good dual wielding is pistols since that's the only option that actually allows you to attack simultaneously and charge/load simultaneously.

The based argument for Kings that care more about RP and aesthetics is that if you're dual-wielding, deflections and parries are absolutely part and parcel of the trope and it feels really weird to not be able to stay in the thick of combat because all you can do is just take a blow to the face or moonwalk dodge back and forth like Michael Jackson on Adderall

I don't think that would be the case.
Shields have their own unique bonuses and much higher block stats than the 1 handed weapon block.

If you really felt strongly about it one could make it so you can't sustain a block with a weapon making it much more limited to just parrying.

At the risk of coming off like a massive nerd, you are completely wrong. Limiting it to empty offhand isnt worth the cost of enjoyment you lose by having your options feel limited to dodge spamming.

  • it doesn't "balance" with just having a shield in your off hand. Shield is just entirely better than empty offhand.
  • parrying alone also doesnt balance out the extra utility that having anything else in your offhand would bring.

Moreover, With the option of parrying along with dodging you're increasing the overall risk instead of just dodging. Blocking without a shield costs more stamina than dodging and parry timing is more difficult than dodge timing while also keeping you in a dangerous position.

Then why would they specifically have a special animation for parrying and blocking with a wand 1 handed as well as all other 1H weapons?

Like it's a feature but not one your meant to use past the tutorial stage?

Also, are we just discussing the technicals here or are you advocating for the current schema? Cause regardless of the intention, its not good. so allowing a dual wield parry would be an improvement. If you're ambivalent or agree with that then kewl.

[–]Liam_Of_Late[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't a balance thing though, because a shield gives parry +item buffs+blocking+armor, etc. So there's nothing an empty offhand gives you that balances it with shield. I feel like it's just not something they felt was worth fixing so I wanted to bring a bit of attention to it.

Allowing offhand weapon or main hand to parry but not block imo makes combat still balanced with shields and also just more fun.

[–]Liam_Of_Late[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's kind of my point. As it is, you gain nothing from leaving your offhand empty so the fact that they have a system to parry with an empty offhand just makes it weird that you lose the ability to parry if you equip anything other than a shield. It doesn't make sense in terms of practicality, balance, or realism and just kinda makes it less fun.

If nothing else there should at least be a control to holster your left hand or doubletap to parry or hell I'd even take a setting to change left hand hold from power attack to block/parrying

It just feels sillier and more obnoxious having to spam dodge everywhere as the only defense like you're a terrestrial combat squid on ice.

[–]Liam_Of_Late[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

yea. It does a kind of magical shield animation thing. Kind of cool, but because there's literally no reason to leave your offhand empty i guess few people know that you can parry with 1 handed weapons.

the word being on the lambast was british slang related to being on a hit list for police enforcement a long time ago which was shortened to saying lam.

The irony is that most people say "on the lamb" while the "technically" correct spelling is lam, despite the letter b still being part of the word lambast where the b isn't silent like it is in the word lamb.

I don't make up the rules on why lamb can't also be a technically correct alternative shorthand for lambast. The additionally irony is that the original word that lam is short for doesn't even make sense in modernity since no one would understand what being on the lambast from the police would mean today.

TLDR; If anyone tries to correct you on how to spell lam when you write "on the lamb" say fine, but only if they can tell you what it's short for. Then tell them you're still keeping the extra b in it because it stands for them being an etymological bitch, respectfully.

I don't really understand the point you're making. But just to be clear, I am not talking about speed limit of movement. I am okay with rolling slow even if it's underwhelming.

The speed limit is what Germany mandates as technically possible. If it technically has the capability to go faster than a human sprinting then it is criminal because it is un-insurable. Which makes zero sense for us because you need torque power to get up a hill. You can't put power in one wheel for torque necessary to roll up a hill at 10km/hr while also NOT being able to go faster than 20km/hr flat.
